Moving: Tisha B’Av (Observed on the Postponed Date) with Rabbi Eliezer Berland
shlit"a

"He has proclaimed a set time against me" (Eicha 1:15), the Tisha B'Av fast with the tzaddik was held with great awakening and a burning fire, just like a festival day.
Thousands arrived to join and crowd together with our teacher, the holy tzaddik Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a, for prayers and the recitation of the special Kinot for Tisha B'Av, which was postponed this year to the 10th of Av due to the Sabbath.
Worshippers arrived from all over the country to the prayer hall of our teacher Rav Berland shlit"a, as the Rav shlit"a stepped out onto his balcony at 4:33 AM and immediately began the recitation of Tikkun Chatzot.
After reciting Tikkun Chatzot, the Rav shlit"a continued with the morning songs and the recitation of the Korbanot together with the public, and at 5:25, our teacher the Rav arrived for the recitation of 'Hodu'.
We are accustomed to seeing our teacher Rav Berland shlit"a with tallit and tefillin, or on Shabbat with his magnificent white garments and tallit, but due to the laws of Tisha B'Av, the Rav shlit"a appeared in his hat and suit, as we were accustomed to in the past.
The feeling was one of great spiritual elevation; the entire public sang the prayer together with the Rav in the special melody of the Rav and Shuvu Banim. After the Amidah prayer, our teacher Rav Berland shlit"a read from the Torah and the special Haftarah for Tisha B'Av from his balcony.
After the Torah reading, our teacher Rav Berland shlit"a descended to the prayer hall and joined the public for the recitation of the Kinot. In honor of the event, a special low platform was built, and a large crowd of thousands of worshippers surrounded the Rav shlit"a. Many hundreds managed to crowd inside the hall, while the rest joined the recitation of the Kinot in the plaza adjacent to the hall.
Everyone sat on the floor. For the benefit of the large number of worshippers who could not enter, a large screen was set up that broadcast everything happening inside, and a large canopy was spread to provide shade from the scorching sun of the month of Menachem Av.
At 11:05, the packed and uplifting prayer service with our teacher, the holy tzaddik Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a, concluded.
