On the Fifteenth of Av the Souls Were Created • The Daily Lesson from the Gaon

Here is the complete daily lesson as delivered by The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, on Wednesday night, the night of the 16th of Av, Parshas Eikev, after the Ma’ariv prayer:

“The Bnei Yissaschar explains that the fifteenth day of Av is a day of the creation of the world—then the world of souls was created, and a person receives a new soul. For the 25th of Elul is the creation of Heaven and earth, but the souls were created on the fifteenth of Av. Each and every person receives a new soul, in the merit of the dancing and the circle-dances. Therefore, we need to dance and rejoice all day and all night, until each person receives a new soul—and may there be the complete Geulah speedily in our days, Amen.”
