"One Must Not Compromise in Life" - Words of the Esteemed Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a in Kiryat Sefer

On the Motza'ei Shabbat of Parshat Toldot, the esteemed tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a delivered a lesson to the yeshiva students of Kiryat Sefer. During the lesson, Rav Berland shlit"a spoke about the great cry of Esau, "When Esau heard his father's words, he cried out an exceedingly great and bitter cry" (Genesis 27:34), and from this, the tzaddik teaches us that one must not compromise in life. These are his holy words.

The Rav shlit"a said, "Like Esau, I will not compromise," and the Rav shouted with the audience, repeating, "I will not compromise. Esau cried "an exceedingly great and bitter cry" (ibid) and said, I will not move from here (until his father Isaac blesses him), I will not leave here. He gave such a cry that all the walls fell, all the people's heads turned backward. A cry like the cry of Judah in Egypt, where all the houses were destroyed, all the heads turned backward."

""And he cried an exceedingly great and bitter cry" (ibid), such a cry that is unparalleled in the entire Torah, "exceedingly," such a cry only Esau has. And why? Because the tzaddik does not bless me, but I will not compromise, I will not compromise. So Isaac saw that he had no choice, he might even bring down all the houses. Esau's first tear fell, the first house was destroyed, the second tear, the second house, the third tear dried on his face, therefore there is still hope for redemption."

"The tear of a person is above all, a person cries, and it does not matter if it is Esau, all the gates in the world open for him. The moment Esau began to cry, the gates of the world opened for him."
