The daily chizuk of The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, on the importance of learning Gemara

Monday, 13 Sivan 5785 — these are his holy words:

A person needs to know that the moment he returns in teshuvah—the very first thing he must do is learn Gemara.

It is not enough that he keeps Shabbos. Today he is inspired, he receives a soul from the World of Atzilus, he sees Hashem face to face, Hashem reveals Himself to him, he sees Moshe Rabbeinu…

But Moshe Rabbeinu does not reveal himself to him every day—tomorrow he is already seeing the “…” of Moshe Rabbeinu.

Suddenly he sees that Moshe Rabbeinu is not there; suddenly Moshe Rabbeinu disappears from him.

So if he learns Gemara, then the Gemara holds him up—only the Gemara.

There is Daf Yomi; there is Tractate Chagigah; there is Tractate Megillah.

By Purim everyone must finish Tractate Megillah—all the stories…
