Only Learning Gemara Saves a Person

The daily chizuk of our teacher, the holy tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, regarding the importance of studying Gemara.

Monday, 13th of Sivan 5785 – These are his holy words:

A person must know that the moment he returns in teshuvah (repentance) – the first thing he must do is study Gemara.

It is not enough that he keeps Shabbat; tomorrow... right now he is inspired, receiving a soul from the World of Atzilut, seeing Hashem face to face, Hashem is revealed to him, he sees Moshe Rabbeinu...

But Moshe Rabbeinu is not revealed to him every day – tomorrow he already sees the... of Moshe Rabbeinu.

Suddenly he sees that Moshe Rabbeinu is not there, suddenly Moshe Rabbeinu has disappeared from him.

So if he is studying Gemara, then the Gemara sustains him – only the Gemara.

There is Daf Yomi, there is Masechet Chagigah, there is Masechet Megillah.

By Purim, everyone must finish Masechet Megillah, all the stories...
