Prayer for the Counting of the Omer: Gevurah of Yesod from Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

עורך ראשי

Special prayer from the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a (may he live long and good days), for the Counting of the Omer, Gevurah within Yesod, Tuesday, 22nd of Iyar, 37th day of the Omer

Master of the World, bring me close to the Tzaddik who merited the level of Yechidah d’Yechidah (the highest essence of the soul), to speak to You and to merit Emunah (faith) and prayer. For Abel brought from the firstlings of his flock, and to You I will bring from the best of the earth; I will liken myself to the Most High and I will straighten my character traits for Your honor.

To bear the burden with my fellows, and to overcome my desires and my lusts—not out of self-love, but only to direct my entire life toward Your Name. To fulfill the Halacha (Jewish law) according to the school of Hillel, and to reach the days when the law will be decided according to Shammai. Please, dear Father, have mercy on me.

I want to understand how much I am lacking and how perfect You are. I plead to be saved from every sin and blemish, in the merit of the Tzaddik Yesod Olam (the Tzaddik who is the foundation of the world).

For Joseph left his garment and fled, and You have mercy and pity on me, Your son. For over this is all the weeping—over the return of her children, over the Shechinah (Divine Presence) that You cast into the dust; may You return to raise her up, in the merit of the "Flowing Brook, Source of Wisdom" (Rebbe Nachman). Shine with the 370 lights (Sh"a Nehorin), then all the nations will thank Your Name. For the 39 lights of dew (Tal) are Your dew, and the Sabbath You gave only to the Jews, and with these 39 lights of dew, You will revive the dead.

Pour upon us the anointing oil, for we are all children of the King of kings. Reveal Your Kingship over us and bring down the Holy Temple from the upper heavens, to fulfill our covenant, the Eternal Covenant (Bris Eitanim). In the merit of King David who said, "I lift my eyes to the mountains," I cry out to You from the depths, for we are "Children of the Covenant" and we seek to know You.

Give me the strength to overcome all trials, to be an expert in "running and returning" (Ratzo v'Shuv - the spiritual fluctuations of the soul) and not to deviate from Your path. Let me not believe in sorcerers, necromancers, or any kind of possessors of [unholy] powers, for there is a Tzaddik of the Generation, and You will guard my covenant. Bring me close to him, take me out from darkness to light, to overcome the [evil] inclination that dwells within me, and may I merit to break my lust. Father, bring healing to all the sick, remove the Satan from before and behind us. Reveal the "Poor Man riding on a donkey" (the Mashiach), to merit the level of Adam Kadmon of Adam Kadmon (the highest primordial spiritual realm), to draw close to the Tzaddik and merit the 50th Gate (Sha'ar HaNun), for "His name shall endure forever" (Yinnon).

And redeem us with a complete Geulah (Redemption), Merciful and Gracious God.
