Rabbi Berland shlit"a (may he live long and good days) in a Lesson: "One Must Utilize Every Day Until the Trip to Uman and Prepare as Required"

"It is important to utilize the time, and particularly before the days of Rosh Hashanah and the trip to the great Kibbutz (gathering) of Rebbe Nachman zy"a (may his merit protect us) in Uman, one must utilize every day until the trip and prepare as required," thus said the Rav shlit"a (may he live long and good days) in the daily lesson.

This morning, the Rav shlit"a went out to the prayer hall at 4:04 AM, and for about half an hour, he gave a lesson on the Daf Yomi (daily page of Talmud) in Tractate Keritot, page 14, until 4:40 AM.

At 4:40 AM, the lesson ended, and after the recitation of Chatzos (midnight lamentations) which lasted 35 minutes, the Rav shlit"a began the Shacharit (morning) prayer.

At the conclusion of the prayer, the Rav gave a lesson on Siman 3 in the Shulchan Aruch (Code of Jewish Law) regarding the laws of modesty, and spoke about the verse "Because (Ekev) Abraham obeyed My voice," explaining that in the word 'Ekev' (heel/because) there are 172 words corresponding to the Ten Commandments, and that one needs to bounce the heels (ekvayim).

Later, the Rav shlit"a gave a second lesson and encouraged the study of Tractate Keritot, which is neither difficult nor long, and he requested from Anash (our community) to join the study and complete the tractate together.

The Rav spoke about the importance of utilizing time, especially before the days of Rosh Hashanah and the trip to the great Kibbutz (gathering) of Rebbe Nachman zy"a in Uman, and that one must utilize every day until the trip and prepare as required. The Rav further said that every tree is a soul and spoke about the importance of prayer among the trees.
