Rabbi Berland shlit"a’s Stirring Call: The Time of the Geulah Has Arrived—The Rav Can Be Released; Take Part in It
“The Rav is about to be released soon. They are asking everyone—without exception—from all of Am Yisrael, every man and woman of Am Yisrael: each person should donate 1,000 shekels from their Chanukah money. One person will borrow, another will take a loan, another will do it in installments. Have it in mind that it is from Chanukah money—Purim, Pesach—(therefore) it’s possible to take 1,000 shekels in installments, because 1,000 shekels is needed in order to release the Rav as quickly as possible. Within a week or two the Rav can be released. If every man and woman donates 1,000 shekels—one will give from savings, another will give from a gemilus chesed fund that he borrowed.”

“Everything must be with prayers, as it is written regarding Yaakov Avinu (Bereishis, Vayishlach): with prayer, with a gift, and with war. Therefore, one must donate 1,000 shekels so that the Rav will be released even before Tu B’Shvat—perhaps by Asarah B’Teves. They are asking everyone to gird their loins, strengthen themselves, and carry out this action. And with Hashem’s help, if there will be one thousand sons and daughters like this, we will be able to release the Rav by Asarah B’Teves.”

The content of the letter that Rabbi Berland shlit"a sent:

“A public proclamation—Chanukah 5777, and the coming of Moshiach: 777, 7×7×7; Shin-Mem-Gimmel (343).”

“In the lights of Chanukah, which are Shin-Mem-Gimmel lights—the secret of ‘beshagam hu basar’ said about Moshe Rabbeinu, in the sod of ‘I saw, and behold—a Menorah entirely of gold, with its bowl on its top, and its seven lamps upon it, and seven and seven pipes to the lamps that are upon its top.’ Now the Rav wants to be released for Chanukah—at the latest by Tu B’Shvat. Tu B’Shvat corresponds to Tu B’Av: there it is 40 days before Rosh Hashanah, and here it is 40 days before the 5th of Adar. On Chanukah the true Geulah is going to happen; therefore each person must donate 1,000 shekels, so that the Rav will already be outside, and through this we will merit the complete Geulah speedily in our days, amen.”

“Every young man and every married man is obligated to raise the donation of 1,000 shekels for the sake of the Rav shlit"a’s speedy release.”

“And through this we will merit, in wholeness, a seal within a seal—to be sealed with the seal of the Kohen Gadol and with the seal of the Kohen Gadol.” As Tosafos says on Shabbos 21a: the oil of the Kohen Gadol is in the aspect of ‘Place me like a seal upon your heart, like a seal upon your arm’—it was a seal within a seal. And through this, ‘You will build the walls of Yerushalayim’—the sod of Purim—as Moharanat brings at the end of Eruvin 22: that Yerushalayim, which is a wall within a wall, in the sod of a seal within a seal, contains and channels the lights of Purim twofold—through Yehoshua bin Nun, who defeated Amalek and conquered Eretz Yisrael.”
