Rabbi David Shalom Bazri shlit"a: "I do not forgive anyone who lies in my name against the holy Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a"
Rabbi David Shalom Bazri shlit"a (may he live long and good days), the Rosh Yeshiva (head of the academy) of "Yashivat HaShalom" in Jerusalem, denied in a conversation with one of his students that he spoke against our teacher, the holy Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, saying: "They are saying such things in my name? Liars. Heaven forbid. I do not forgive them." One of the avreichim (married Torah students) in the kollel (study hall for married men) of Rabbi David Shalom Bazri shlit"a, the head of "Yashivat HaShalom" in Jerusalem, who is a "ben bayis" (frequent visitor and confidant) of Rabbi Bazri, told the Breslov Information Line about an interesting conversation he had with Rabbi Bazri regarding our teacher, the holy Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. "The Rav was in the middle of the special kavanos (mystical intentions) of 'Pitum HaKetoret' (the incense offering prayer) during the Netz (sunrise) prayer service, and I felt a burning desire to hear Rabbi Bazri's opinion on the holy Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. Rabbi Bazri does not know me as a student of the Rav or of 'Shuvu Banim,' so he was free to tell me exactly what he thinks about the Rav shlit"a." "I approached the Rav along with another avreich (married student), and I told him that I heard that Rabbi Bazri speaks against Rabbi Berland shlit"a. Anyone who knows the Rav knows that when he is in the middle of his kavanos (mystical intentions), nothing can move him, but suddenly Rabbi Bazri turned toward me and asked: 'What? They are saying such things in my name? Liars. Wicked people, who spoke like that in my name?' and he began to shout with great intensity. Rabbi Bazri asked me: 'Are you sure?' I answered him that it appears on the internet, and Rabbi Bazri said to me: 'Heaven forbid. I do not forgive them.'" "The worshippers in the minyan (prayer quorum) thought that Rabbi Bazri was shouting at me and didn't understand what happened until I told them. Everyone is invited to come to this Netz (sunrise) minyan and hear from the worshippers exactly what took place." A second time when I approached Rabbi Bazri to speak with him on the subject was when we finished studying and the reception for the public had ended. I waited for him outside the Yeshiva with three other young men. I told the Rav that I had again heard people speaking evil things about Rabbi Berland shlit"a in the name of Rabbi Bazri. The Rav became angry and said again: "These are wicked people. Lies. It is a total lie and falsehood." He told me that exactly then, they had published that he dreamed a dream related to Independence Day and Mashiach (the Messiah), and that too was a total lie and falsehood, and he said that people invent things. I said to Rabbi Bazri that people are saying that perhaps the Rav is retracting his words because he is afraid of the "Shuvu Banim" Chassidim. The Rav said: "What and who am I afraid of? They are wicked. I do not forgive them. It is all a lie and falsehood." Listen: [audio mp3="https://www.shuvubanimint.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/000-הרב-דוד-בצרי.mp3"][/audio]
