Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a Delivers Words of Eulogy and Accompanies the Funeral of the Elder of the Council of Torah Sages, the Great Gaon Rabbi Shimon Baadani zt"l

When the news became known of the passing to the Heavenly Treasuries of the great gaon, the elder of the Council of Torah Sages, Rabbi Shimon Baadani zt"l, a beloved friend—may he be distinguished for life—departed from his holy custom. Although Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a does not participate in funerals at all, he came to the taharah room at Maayanei HaYeshua Hospital to take leave and to recite The Tikkun HaKlali, according to the Breslov custom, beside the pure bed of Rabbi Shimon Baadani zt"l.

For many long minutes, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a stood beside the pure bed of his beloved friend and recited the verses of The Tikkun HaKlali. Afterward, he left the hospital and delivered a eulogy for the president of the Council of Torah Sages, Rabbi Shimon Baadani zt"l, opening the eulogy with the stirring words: "My Rav, and the Rav of all of the People of Israel—\"My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen…\""
