Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu zt"l Revealed Before His Passing — The Holy Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a and Rabbi Dov Kook shlit"a Are Delaying the Coming of Moshiach So That More Jews Will Merit to Return in Teshuvah

“The following story about the Rishon LeTzion, Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu zt”l, before his passing, I heard from very reliable sources. His wife, the Rebbetzin Tzvia Chana Eliyahu, may she be separated for a long life, asked him while he was on his deathbed — ‘After all, the Baba Sali promised you that you would merit to see Moshiach, and now we see that you are growing weaker and weaker—so what will be with the Baba Sali’s promise?’”
“Rabbi zt”l answered her: Know that the End was supposed to come, and indeed the time of the Geulah has arrived. But what can I do, when two Tzaddikim are holding it back from coming? They want more and more Jews to merit to return in teshuvah, because after the coming of Moshiach they will no longer be able to return in teshuvah (‘We do not accept converts in the days of Moshiach,’ Yevamos 24b; Avodah Zarah 3b). Each person will remain in his standing, and accordingly his destiny will be determined.”
“The Rebbetzin continued and asked him: Who are the two rabbis?”
“The holy Rabbi and Kabbalist zt”l answered her: Rabbi Dov Kook shlit”a of Tiberias, and the holy Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit”a.”

From this, the wise person will understand and learn the main reason for which the holy Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit”a accepts upon himself so many sufferings and humiliations. And instead of being ungrateful and harboring doubts about the Tzaddik shlit”a, one should gird his loins and pray for the success of Rabbi Eliezer Berland ben Atia — for that is our success.
