Rav Aharon Stern's Anger
The Harsh Judgment is Because We Sit Quietly While Rav Berland Languishes in Prison

The Gaon Rabbi Aharon Stern shlit"a, head of the Ziv Yehuda institutions and son of the Kabbalist Rabbi David Chaim Stern of Bnei Brak shlit"a, speaks with very harsh words regarding Hashem’s anger over the arrest of Rav Berland, and that the decree will not be annulled until we act to release him. We request with every possible plea to read, distribute, and flood these words until they reach all of the people of Israel, so they may understand and internalize why this harsh decree has fallen upon us.
My teachers and masters, how difficult this day is for the people of Israel, like the day the Holy Temple was destroyed. On this day, entire communities were forced to leave thousands of synagogues throughout the country (and the world) in terrible tears and go out to pray in the street. Heaven forbid, just as when it rains on Sukkot, and Hashem pours a pitcher of water in His face (All seven days, a person makes his sukkah his permanent home and his house temporary. If it rains, from when is it permitted to leave? From when the porridge spoils. They gave a parable: to what is this comparable? To a servant who comes to pour a cup for his master, and he pours a pitcher of water in his face - Mishnah Sukkah 2:9).
How much this should shock everyone and bring us to a soul-searching, why has Hashem done this to us?

But know, my teachers and masters, I said this already 40 days ago. Know that in Sodom, very great wicked people lived, who at the height of their wickedness took a girl who performed the mitzvah of charity, smeared her entire body with honey, and placed her on the roof in the heat of the day so that the bees would sting her to death. The cry of the girl reached the heart of the heavens; Hashem said to the angels, "I will go down now and see, whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto Me" (Genesis 18:21).
Chazal say that there are things for which the judgment is sealed; when they came and took Rav Berland and put him in prison - that is the cry that rises to the heavens.
All this great noise is because that tzaddik (Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a) is rotting in prison in isolation - Hashem is angry.
They can call me strange, but it was also said about our righteous Mashiach, "He was despised and forsaken by men, and he was counted among the transgressors, a man of sorrows and acquainted with sickness, and as one from whom men hide their faces, he was despised and we did not esteem him" (Isaiah 53:3), but - (and he was wounded because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him) "and with his stripes we were healed" (ibid. 5).
Rav Berland is rotting in prison and the people of Israel are rotting with this coronavirus.
We must go out and cry out until they release Rav Berland from prison. If they have any sense in their heads, if anyone wants to save this people - perhaps the coronavirus was supposed to be in the world, but in the Land of Israel, there was not supposed to be coronavirus.
Everything is because Rav Berland is rotting in prison, Hashem is angry. If there is someone who has the power to act to get Rav Berland out of prison, he can save this entire people. Because we were driven from our inheritance, we were driven from the synagogues, this is the destruction of the Holy Temple, we were thrown into the street, Hashem says I do not want you, I do not want your prayers, I do not want your service of Hashem. A tzaddik sits and groans in prison - and everyone is silent, no one opens their mouth, everyone suddenly has gone mute, no one says anything. Everyone is silent with a thunderous silence, but Hashem is not silent, Hashem demands the insult of the tzaddik, and who knows, perhaps He will spare, perhaps He will have mercy.
We must cry out to Hashem, perhaps He will take this harsh decree from us, but we must act, we must act - if they do not take Rav Berland out of prison, the people of Israel are in very great trouble, Heaven forbid it could worsen and continue. I do not want to say things that would open a mouth to the Satan, Heaven forbid, but the matter is in our hands, we can save the people of Israel here and now. Even though the words may sound strange, know that I am telling you words of truth.
And He, being merciful, will forgive iniquity.
You too can help Rav Berland
