Rav Berland in a Wonderful Conversation from Tzalmon with His Veteran and Famous
Student

Our teacher, the holy Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a, called from Tsalmon to one of his famous and veteran students, and in a long private conversation with him, he delivered a wonderful Torah lesson filled with new Torah insights.
These are his holy words, written according to the editor's understanding.
"David did not receive strengths; he only received 5 years from Abraham, 28 from Jacob, and another 37 from Joseph. 70 from Adam the First."
"The moment Abraham called Ishmael a donkey ('And Abraham said to his young men, stay here with the donkey' (Genesis 22:5), with one who is like a donkey), he brought him into the Garden of Eden."
"Og, King of Bashan, and Sihon, King of the Amorites, the Arnon Valley—in this Torah portion, one merits long life... After Tisha B'Av, one sees Hashem face to face. The whole matter of man is to see Hashem face to face, 'Face to face Hashem spoke with you' (Deuteronomy 5:4)."
"'Then Moses separated three cities across the Jordan toward the sunrise' (ibid. 4:41). Moses separated three cities of refuge across the Jordan, and after that, in the portion of Mishpatim, it is written that he separated another three. With all the additions, one reaches a total of 15 cities. Why are 15 cities of refuge needed? How many murderers are there in Israel, how many murderers will there be?"
"The Ari says, until the tikkun (rectification) of all generations occurs, we are now in the generation of the Flood and the Dispersion. The generation of the Dispersion that built the Tower of Babel—we are building tunnels, airports, factories for building airplanes, rockets."
"The miracle is that Hitler said that whatever a Jew touches is 'yayin nesekh' (forbidden wine). If a Jew invented an atomic bomb, then it is forbidden to touch it; otherwise, Hitler would have destroyed the whole world in one year. Every atom is six hundred thousand people; today it is already a million, two million people."
"Today it is possible to fly to the moon; if there is an atomic bomb, we will fly to the moon. They say they will enrich uranium and it will be possible to fly to the moon—all the destruction is on the moon."
"One must reach 'the skin of his face shone' (Exodus 34:29), and if not, one reaches Corona: 500 deceased, 25 thousand sick; half a million have already died in the world. Now we are going to sweeten the Corona; by Yom Kippur, we must sweeten the Corona."
"On the first of August, the First World War began, in 1914; it was on Tisha B'Av. The second began on the 17th of Elul, which is when the building of the new world began; that is a week before the 24th of Elul. On the 25th of Elul is the yahrzeit of Rabbi Elazar, son of Rabbi Shimon, that whoever... will live to be 400 years old like Boaz."
"Therefore, we read the Scroll of Ruth. Boaz lived 400 years, which is 'chas-Ruth', charoset; the Ari says that this is Ruth. 'Chas' is 'chaim' (life), gematria 68. The main thing is that there should be a spark from Ruth, who was a king's daughter but went to glean stalks."
"Boaz asked, 'Whose young woman is this?' (Ruth 2:5). Why are you asking that? Let her live; why are you looking at all? Everyone came with wagons to collect what remained from the field, and Ruth took only two, two. She was stringent like Beit Hillel, because Beit Shammai permits collecting three, three."
"Boaz saw something special in Ruth, therefore he asked, 'Whose young woman is this?' The Ben Ish Chai says that they told him, 'This is a Moabite young woman'; it is just a custom that in Moab they collect like that."
"Tu B'Av is like Yom Kippur, so why do we dance? What, is it permitted to dance on Yom Kippur? Rather, the crimson thread turns white; now we are at the moment when everything turns white. That after Tisha B'Av it is written, 'Your iniquity is ended, daughter of Zion' (Lamentations 4:22), 'He has remembered your iniquity' (ibid.). 'Pakad' (remembered) is the year 5780 (Tash"p), a year of visitation, 'I have surely remembered you' (Exodus 3:16)."
"Everyone is traveling to Uman for Rosh Hashanah, taking off on the Tuesday before Rosh Hashanah, at 7 in the morning; at 6 they are already at the airport at the time of sunrise. They will land at ten and be in Uman at 12."
"If one does not reach 'And He has lifted up a horn for His people' (Psalms 148:14), the Corona comes. One sees Hashem face to face, Hashem walks with us, clouds of glory—that is a Sukkah. The Arnon Valley, where 'Arnon' is the gate of the Nun."
"The Nuns were inverted, 'And it came to pass, when the Ark set forward' (Numbers 10:35); now on Tisha B'Av was the tikkun (rectification) of the Nuns. Jerusalem has three names: Luz, Jerusalem, and Beit El."
"When I came to the third wall, all the residents who were there would go down on Shabbat with pool floats. But after that, they all came to ask forgiveness from my wife, the Rabbanit Tehila, and said that they want to be religious and that they are ashamed of their shorts. Everyone wants to be G-d-fearing—now there isn't even one secular person there."
"The world is divided into 22 letters; the 'Tet' shines in Luz, 'Luz was the name of the city at the first' (Genesis 28:19). Luz is in Jerusalem."
