Rav Berland in Detention and the Whole World Enters Corona Lockdown

This is not amusing at all, and there is no schadenfreude here. Despite the very dark picture that they are trying to paint of our teacher, the great Gaon and Tzaddik, Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a, along with all his students, anyone who knows the work of the Rav and his community knows that the welfare of the people of Israel has always been at the forefront of their concerns. Even before he founded the Shuvu Banim yeshiva and community, one thing stood before the eyes of Rav Berland - concern for all of Israel wherever they may be. There are countless stories about Rav Berland traveling from Jerusalem to Eilat just to bring one more soul closer to our Father in Heaven.

The Rav instilled this path in his students. Rav Berland was the first to send masses of students every single evening to all of the people of Israel in order to bring everyone closer to their Jewish roots. Under the guise of collecting charity for Torah institutions and their students, the Rav's students would enter homes, give Torah and strengthening classes, and bring the distant closer.

"After engaging all day in the study of Torah, he emerged from the ritual bath (mikveh), and with a burning face, the great Gaon and Tzaddik, Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a, said, "There is a terrible decree for the destruction of the world due to the Coronavirus." The Rav added that the decree hangs over all the inhabitants of the world, human beings, animals, and vegetation. Our teacher, Rav Berland, did not wait any longer and immediately turned to write a powerful prayer to sweeten the harsh decree. After engaging in the secret of these matters, Rav Berland commanded us to translate the prayer into all languages and distribute it in Israel and throughout the entire world." Unfortunately, the cynicism toward the actions of Rav Berland has crossed every line, as it is easy for many people to forget the piles of good deeds of this giant Tzaddik, and buckets of filth began to seep into the media and law enforcement. For those who know Rav Berland, it is understood that what is happening today is actually a deep spiritual clarification of who truly believes in the true Tzaddik, in the sense of - "Who is for Hashem, come to me." Who believes in the Torah of Hashem, which since it was given to Israel, continues to be transmitted in every generation by its sages and the Tzaddikim of the generations.

One must understand that there are consequences to actions. Even if the country's leadership tries to bury its head in the sand and broadcast to the outside that imprisoning the Tzaddik with such disgrace and outrageous conduct is a legitimate thing, still, deep in their hearts, everyone understands that there are consequences to such disgrace against the Torah and its students. And so are the things in their truth, according to what the human intellect can conceive regarding such a high subject.

And indeed, since the prayer of Rav Berland was published in dozens of languages and spread throughout the world, it even reached the major news channels in the world and in China in particular. But only a few know the story behind the writing of the prayer.

Upon leaving the mikveh, Rav Berland shlit"a told those in his presence that it was revealed to him that there is a harsh decree for the destruction of the world, G-d forbid, by the Coronavirus. The Rav was gripped by holy thoughts and for a long hour performed unifications (yichudim) regarding the matter of the Coronavirus decree. Those in his presence, after seeing that the matter was serious and that Rav Berland attributed great importance to it, turned to him and asked him to compose a prayer to sweeten the decree. The Rav composed the prayer, but as is known and famous to all those knowledgeable in the subject, Rav Berland acted to sweeten the decree from the root.

However, as much as the Tzaddik asks to take the decree upon himself, and by drawing disgrace upon himself he sweetens decrees over the people of Israel, "And G-d seeks the pursued" (Ecclesiastes 3:15). There is simply no way that from Heaven they will see everything that the great Gaon and Tzaddik, Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a, is going through and remain silent. The last time they judged the Rav, fires started all over the country. Then the divine Kabbalist, the great Gaon, Rav Dov Kook from Tiberias, came out and said, "The terrible fires all over the country arrived because of the evil they are doing to Rav Berland."

Channel 12 is one of all the media channels reporting in panic: "In the Ministries of Health and Interior, they estimate that following the new guidelines of the last few days - about 100,000 Israelis will be in isolation." The words of the Kabbalist, Rav Menashe Amon shlit"a, were published regarding the severity of the danger of speaking against Rav Berland shlit"a. The words were harsh and sharp, and left no room for doubt regarding the Torah's opinion on the prohibition of speaking lashon hara (evil speech) about the Tzaddik, Rav Berland.
