Rav Moshe Binenstock shlit"a
"All Those Who Transmit the Tradition Must Kiss the Feet of Rav Berland"

The esteemed Rav Moshe Binenstock shlit"a, the legendary chazzan, is one of the most famous mashpi'im (influencers) in Breslov and one of the transmitters of the tradition, man to man, back to Reb Noson of Breslov. It has been widely publicized in the past that Rav Binenstock received the oral tradition of Breslov Chassidut from the greatest Breslov chassid of the previous generation, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Bender zt"l, as he has testified about himself in the past. "I merited to know Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Bender zt"l on Erev Rosh Chodesh Nissan 5724, and from the year 5731, I was almost inseparable from him for eighteen years, until his passing to the heavenly archives on 22 Tammuz 5749."
Rabbi Bender zt"l arrived in Israel after surviving the Holocaust and was one of the pillars in rebuilding Breslov Chassidut, shifting the center of gravity from the city of Uman before the Second World War and the communist takeover of Russia, to Jerusalem. As someone who grew up spiritually under the wings of the greatest 'ovdim' (servants of Hashem) of Breslov Chassidut in Uman, Rabbi Bender was a vessel full and overflowing with the entire Breslov tradition of previous generations, and there was no one who could compare to him in this. As he testified, Rav Binenstock merited to receive the majority of this tradition from him.
Many know an important point, which many others have chosen to hide, that Rav Binenstock received his Torah from another great Rav - the tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. In the conversation we bring before you, Rav Binenstock testifies: "My first Rebbe was Rabbi Noson Liberman and my second Rebbe is Rav Leizer Berland shlit"a (the tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland)."
The aforementioned words of Rav Binenstock come after he recounts ancient stories about Reb Levi Yitzchak Bender zt"l and the elders of Breslov of the previous generation, at the end of which he adds and says: "All the great transmitters of the tradition of our generation, who pride themselves on knowing all the tapes, must kiss the feet of Reb Leizer Berland when he leaves prison... In his merit, all the tapes of Reb Levi Yitzchak Bender exist..."
