Rebbe Nachman Lives and Endures! • The Daily Lesson from the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Here is a summary of the daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, The Rav Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a – yesterday after the Maariv (evening prayer) on Wednesday night, the 16th of Sivan, Parshas Behaaloscha:

Eldad and Medad [prophesied]: "Moses is dead, Joshua brings [Israel into the land]." Miriam immediately traveled to Uman. Rebbe Nachman told her to travel to Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev, and from Berditchev to the Baal Shem Tov. The Baal Shem Tov said, "You have accomplished [your goal], but travel back to Uman." Rebbe Nachman told her, "Now you have accomplished that he will live 40 years." So he lived another 40 years. But they had to return in a gilgul (reincarnation) because Bnei Yisrael (the Children of Israel) no longer wanted to enter the Land. The [book] Asarah Maamaros says they didn't understand the prophecy "Moses is dead"—this refers to the fact that there is Techiyas HaMeisim (Resurrection of the Dead), because one must die five minutes before the Resurrection. Rebbe Nachman also died for five minutes, because Rebbe Nachman lives and endures! Everyone travels to Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi, then to Rabbi Yaakov Abuhatzeira in Damanhur. From there they "jump" with Naphtali who jumped to Egypt, but Chushim [son of Dan] didn't understand why they weren't burying [Jacob]. Esau said Jacob only bought one plot and he [Esau] should be buried there, so Chushim cut off his head. Joab killed Abner, and then everyone fell at Abner's feet, so he didn't kill him back even though he was his own goel hadam (blood redeemer). Therefore, he is buried in the Me'aras HaMachpelah (Cave of the Patriarchs). Because a person can live, as written in the Ketzos HaChoshen [Siman] 250, that even if two simanim (vital organs/signs) are slaughtered, one can live; therefore, they don't go to an Ir Miklat (City of Refuge). Rothschild died of hunger and wrote, "I, Rothschild, said I would not die of hunger, and I died of hunger." Because he needed to turn iron into gold. All the Rothschilds are the greatest wealthy people, but only those who do not apostatize (convert out of the faith). In the will, it was written that whoever apostatizes loses the entire inheritance. Everyone finishes the Tehillim (Psalms). The son [understands] infinitely more than the man. The daughter knows how to turn iron into gold, knows how to make an atom. Everything we learned in one year, we learn in one second. All the wisdoms we learned in 6,000 years can be learned in one hour. Everyone learns Sippurei Maasiyos (The Tales of Rebbe Nachman), and the sons learn [Tractate] Shevuos because they made "roasted seeds" (kaliyot) out of Ahab ben Kolaiah. It is written in [Sanhedrin] 93 that he made from them "nuts" kosher for Passover... In [the year] 6093 will be the Geulah (Redemption). The Rebbe of Ozhurov says that then will be the Geulah. Everyone will learn with his wife [Tractate] Taanis and Perek Chelek (the chapter in Sanhedrin about the afterlife), and also about [Tractate] Kesuvos, that in the future to come, one cluster [of grapes] will fill one ship, each cluster a Seah (a measurement). They said to Rabbi Chiyya, "Why did you come to pick the grapes?" He said to them, "So they won't rot." They said to him, "If you had stayed to learn, they would have grown even more." Like it was with Rabbi Yehoshua ben Levi who saw [things the size of] oxen; they told him, "These are clusters [of grapes]." Another year (and he said, "Land, for whom are you producing your fruits?"), Rabbi Chiyya arrived and said to them, "I see goats." They said to him, "Last year they were the size of oxen; go away from here so they don't shrink further." The seminars (schools) stop in another two weeks. Until 2:06 minutes, one must learn Mishlei (Proverbs) and Iyov (Job) because one needs to be a Leviathan (a spiritual giant). Hashem said to him, "This won't work for you," but Rebbe Nachman did merit to be the Leviathan. And in this merit, may there be the complete Geulah (Redemption) speedily in our days, Amen!
