Residents of Beit Shikma in Shiur at Rav Berland's Home

Jun 20, 2023•עורך ראשי

Beit Shikma is a moshav in southern Israel close to the city of Ashkelon.  In the last few years, around twenty residents of the moshav have merited to draw close to the great light of our Rebbe Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a.  In the town is a Kollel "Shuvu Banim" where all the Rav's followers gather.  On Monday evening 24 Sivan, they merited to come to the Rav's home for a special shiur before the Ma'ariv prayer.  Here is an excerpt from the Rav's words from the shiur about Likutey Moharan 260:

"He says: What is 'a limb from a living animal' -- this is disparagement.  If a person doesn't accept disparagement, everything is 'a limb from a living animal.'  A person comes to the world only to receive disparagement.  And every disparagement that he receives, he saves the Jewish people from bloodshed.  If a Jew would have accepted every disparagement with love, then there wouldn't have been bloodshed, there wouldn't have been the Holocaust, there wouldn't have been anything.  If two people had travelled to Uman, they would have cancelled the entire decree."
