Shuvu Banim in Beit Shikmah ○ A Summary from the Lesson, Inside the Holy Inner Chamber

Beit Shikmah is a community in the south, located near Ashkelon. In recent years, about twenty residents of the area have merited to draw close to the great light of The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. In the community there is a Shuvu Banim kollel, where all those who have drawn close to The Rav shlit"a gather together. Those who have come close from Beit Shikmah merited to enter “inside the holy inner chamber” for a special lesson for the residents, on Monday night, the eve of 24 Sivan, before Ma’ariv. Below is a summary of The Rav’s words shlit"a as they were said during the lesson:

The Rav began the lesson with the subject of techeiles, and how Korach said to Moshe: “Make a tallis that is entirely techeiles.” After that, The Rav spoke about Lemech, who killed Kayin and Tuval-Kayin. Then The Rav spoke about Ur Kasdim—how Avraham worked in the idol shop and would tell people the truth. The Rav said: “An old man of ninety came and he told him, ‘What, are you serious? We took this idol out of the oven five minutes ago…’” In this way people stopped buying idols, so Nimrod put Avraham into the fiery furnace. Suddenly he saw Gavriel with him inside the fire, and then he took him out.

The Rav also said in the lesson that a person comes into the world for the secret of 777—which is the secret of Lemech, and the secret of King David, and the secret of the seven lamps. This is also the secret of “b’shagam he is flesh,” and the light that will be in the future—the “light of the seven days,” which is the light of 7×7×7, the light of Rebbe Nachman, holy and awesome. Later in the lesson, The Rav spoke about the holiness of the home, and quoted from the Tzetel Katan of Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk regarding the great severity of a person’s holiness. He also brought the Pele Yoetz on this matter. After that, he spoke about Likkutei Moharan, Torah 83, which Rabbi Nosson, as it were, “stole.” Then The Rav spoke about the tribe of Binyamin, who received humiliations when they jumped into the Sea of Reeds before everyone. The Rav said that because they accepted the humiliations, they merited that the Beis HaMikdash would be in their portion—except for a small strip, the amah of the Yesod, which is in the portion of Yehudah. And if he had accepted with love one more “sela,” he would have merited the entire Beis HaMikdash. The Rav concluded that if a person merits to accept humiliations, he saves all of Am Yisrael from bloodshed, as brought in Likkutei Moharan, Torah 260. Below is the excerpt from the lesson:

“He says, what is this ‘a limb from a living creature’? This is humiliations. If a person does not accept humiliations, everything is ‘a limb from a living creature.’ A person comes into the world only to accept humiliations. And every humiliation he accepts saves Am Yisrael from bloodshed. If a Jew would accept every humiliation with love, then there would be no bloodshed—there would be no Holocaust, there would be nothing. Two people would travel to Uman—they would nullify every decree.”

With these words, The Rav concluded the lesson, which lasted close to half an hour (about 27 minutes). After the lesson, The Rav blessed the public that they should merit to travel to Uman, recited Kaddish, and went out to the balcony of his home for Ma’ariv with a great crowd.
