Revelation: Support Letter from the Steipler zt"l Following the Efforts of the

In the year 5730 (1969), harsh posters were published against the emissaries of the Rabbis, Rabbi Menachem Porush zt"l (who was a Knesset member on behalf of United Torah Judaism and chairman of Agudath Israel in Jerusalem) and Rabbi Shlomo Lorincz zt"l (former MK on behalf of Agudath Israel, who served continuously in the Knesset as a representative of Haredi Judaism for 33 years). Upon hearing of this, our teacher, the holy tzaddik Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a, immediately went to the master, the Prince of Torah, Rabbi Kanievsky zt"l (the Steipler), as well as to the master, Rabbi Shach zt"l, and presented the facts of the harsh persecution to them.

Our teacher Rav Berland shlit"a did not stop there and requested letters of support and protest from the Torah giants of Israel against those who were persecuting the Rabbis, the emissaries of the Rabbis. Rabbi Kanievsky shlit"a wrote a letter of protest to our teacher Rav Berland shlit"a to strengthen the aforementioned activists, and our teacher the Rav shlit"a hurried to photocopy and distribute it.

It is heartening to read the words that remain as testimony on the pages of paper and to see how our teacher Rav Berland shlit"a added in his holy handwriting, in a note in the margin of the letter, that this page could be obtained from him at the Breslov Yeshiva in Bnei Brak. The Rav shlit"a added and wrote that they should not approach him during the Torah lesson, but rather approach him during the break.

It should be noted that Rabbi Kanievsky even added another personal letter on the same matter, but the letter arrived late for various reasons, and the validity of the letter was only for the year 5730.
