“Seal Us in the Book of a Good Life Through the Beating of the Willow” • Prayers for Hoshana Rabbah from the holy Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Presented here is a collection of prayers for Hoshana Rabbah from the holy Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a—prayers for the beating of the willow, and to merit a good note (pitka tava) through the merit of this holy and awe-inspiring day:
The order of the beating of the willow:
After completing the Hoshanos, the chazzan says Kaddish Tiskabel. After that, he sets the lulav down, and we take the hoshanah bundle and beat it. One should beat the willow specifically on the ground, as explained in the holy Zohar. The willow should have five branches—no fewer and no more—and one should strike only five times, and no more. And after the beating of the willow, say this supplication: May it be Your will, Hashem our G-d and G-d of our fathers—You Who choose good prophets and their good customs—that You accept with mercy and with favor our prayer and our circuits. Remember for us the merit of Your seven perfect ones, remove the iron barrier that separates between us and You, listen to our cry, and grant us a good sealing—You Who suspend the earth upon nothingness—and seal us in the Book of a good life. And on this day, bestow upon the Shechinah of Your might five gevurot sweetened through the beating of the willow—the custom of Your holy prophets. Awaken love among them, and let us be kissed with the kisses of Your mouth, which sweeten all the gevurot and all the judgments. Illuminate the Shechinah of Your might with the Name (Yud–Heh–Vav), which is the dew of lights, the dew of Your radiance. From there, bestow abundance upon Your servant who is praying (so-and-so son/daughter of so-and-so) before You (forgive me): that You lengthen his days, forgive him for his sins, iniquities, and transgressions, and extend Your right hand and Your hand to receive me in complete teshuvah before You. Open Your good treasury to satisfy a thirsty soul with water, as it is written: “Hashem will open for you His good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain of your land in its time, and to bless all the work of your hand.” Amen.
To merit, through the beating of the willow, to overcome all eleven chiefs of Esav—so that everything will be turned to good
Master of the world, Almighty—grant me, through the merit of the beating of the willow—grant us, Hashem Echad 1, through the merit of the beating of the willow, the revelation of Moshiach 358 son of David 24 = 435, “in the blink” 305 “of an eye” 130 = 435, through the merit of the Tzaddik 209 Yesod 80 Olam 146 = 435, Rebbe Nachman 268 Nachman 148 son of Simchah 353 son of Feige 94 = 967. And may the angels Nuriel 297, Gavriel 246, Michael 107, and Refael 317 = 967 accompany us by day 96 and by night 81 = 177. And may we merit to be like Serach 508 daughter 402 of Asher 501 = 1411, who entered with her body into Gan 53 Eden 124 = 177. And through the beating of the willow, may we overcome the eleven (11) chiefs of Esav, and may we merit the verse: “And it was turned around, that the Jews ruled over their enemies”—“and it was turned around” 501 “that they ruled” 355 “the Jews” 80 “they” 50 “over their enemies” 414 = 1411. Through the merit of “Keruv” 248 “anointed” 388 “master” 102 “of the wings” 205 = 941, and through this may we merit the revelation of Mordechai 274 and Esther 667 = 941, and Mattisyahu 667 and his sons 74 = 941.
To merit a good note (pitka tava) on Hoshana Rabbah, to be fluent in all the books of the holy Rambam, to merit a good and long life, and to minimize sleep—so as to complete all the books of the Rambam in one year
Master of the world, Almighty—grant me to be included in Adam Kadmon of Adam Kadmon, and may I merit to complete within one year the entire “Yad HaChazakah,” all fourteen of its volumes: Sefer HaMitzvos, Sefer HaMada, Sefer Ahavah, Sefer Zemanim, Sefer Nashim, Sefer Kedushah, Sefer Hafla’ah, Sefer Zera’im, Sefer Taharah, Sefer Avodah, Sefer Korbanos, Sefer Kinyan, Sefer Nezikin, and Sefer Mishpatim, and Sefer Shoftim. And may I know all the books of responsa by heart. And may I merit, every Hoshana Rabbah, new good notes (pitkim tovim chadashim). And every Simchas Torah, inscribe me for long life and for peace—up to 210 years, as Yaakov Avinu, peace be upon him, was meant to live. May I merit all the days of my life to participate in the Second Hakafos until morning and until vatikin. Through this, may I merit to sweeten all the judgments in the world—those of Am Yisrael, and those of each and every individual—and draw down only goodness, blessings, and salvations for all of Am Yisrael. And may I never grow weary, and may I never need to sleep, and may I merit to fulfill the oath of King David, peace be upon him: “If I enter the tent of my house, if I go up upon the bed of my couch; if I give sleep to my eyes, slumber to my eyelids—until I find a place for Hashem, dwellings for the Mighty One of Yaakov.”
To merit on Hoshana Rabbah the revelation of King David—and that all our service in these days should crown Hashem as King over all creation, as the world is guided through the Tzaddik
Master of the world, Almighty—grant me, on “Hoshana Rabbah,” the revelation of King David, peace be upon him, Moshiach, the G-d of Yaakov. And may it be fulfilled in us on this “Hoshana Rabbah,” through the merit of King David, peace be upon him: “And Hashem will be King over all the earth; on that day Hashem will be One and His Name One.” For now, on “Hoshana Rabbah,” the Name “Yihyeh” is already being transformed into the Name “V’hayah Hashem l’Melech al kol ha’aretz” (“And Hashem will be King over all the earth”). For all our avodah during these 21 days—from Rosh Hashanah until now—is to crown Hashem as King over all the worlds, so that all the inhabitants of the earth will know and recognize that the kingdom belongs only to Hashem alone; that there is judgment and there is a Judge; and that Hashem does not overlook even the smallest point of a yud. And on “Hoshana Rabbah,” all the worlds ascend to Atika Kadisha, to Adam Kadmon, to the Hidden of all hidden ones, the Concealed of all—because all forms of Divine guidance in all the worlds, until the end of all generations, are carried out through King David, peace be upon him. This is what the Gemara says in Sukkah 52: “In the future, David will sit at the head of all the tzaddikim, with Adam, Sheis, and Mesushelach on his right, and Moshe, Avraham, and Yaakov on his left.”
To merit, through the merit of Tritiroi and Eliyahu HaNavi, that David will be our ushpizin on Hoshana Rabbah and to bring the great salvation to Am Yisrael
Master of the world, Almighty—Hashem Echad 1—through the merit of 435 Tritiroi 444, a wondrous man, who would leap by kefitzas ha’derech every Erev Shabbos and make Shabbos in Jerusalem (Yerushalmi Maaser Sheni 29), and through the merit of Eliyahu 52 HaNavi 68 = 1000, remembered for good—grant us the ushpizin of David on Hoshana Rabbah. And through this, Father 3, the Merciful One: “Know wisdom for your soul, and it will be a crown upon your head”—“know” 79 “wisdom” 73 “for your soul” 480 “and it” 22 “crown” 620 “for your head” 551 = 1828. And through this, Father 3, on “Hoshana Rabbah,” may the verse be fulfilled in us: “He magnifies salvations for His king and does kindness for His anointed”—“He magnifies” 87 “salvations” 792 “for His king” 96 “and does” 387 “kindness” 72 “for His anointed” 324 = 1828—“for David and for his seed forever.” And may we merit on “Hoshana Rabbah” to be like King David, about whom it is said: “Was it not he who performed this great salvation in Israel”—“was it not” 36 “he” 12 “performed” 375 “the salvation” 396 “the great” 53 “this” 413 “in Israel” 543 = 1828.
