Shiur in the Home of Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a for the Residents of Petach Tikvah

A Special Shiur for the Residents of Petach Tikvah ◆ A Special Report on the City’s Activities ◆ Summary of the Shiur
This evening, on the night of the 9th of Iyar, the residents of Petach Tikvah—students of Rabbi Berland shlit"a—were privileged to enter for a shiur in the home of Rabbi Berland shlit"a.
Those who merited to participate in the shiur in the home of Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a were a group of people strengthening themselves, who gather each week for a Torah class in the home of one of the friends in the city. Through this, they merit to draw close and to receive the da’as of the “Nachal Novea Mekor Chochmah,” in the unique path of Rabbi Berland shlit"a.
In the shiur, Rabbi Berland shlit"a spoke about the idea that Avraham asked for Sarah’s angel—“So that it will go well with me because of you, and my soul will live on your account” (Bereishis 12:13)—to accompany him, since his own angels had left him when he went down to Egypt. From there, he went on to speak about the greatness of shalom bayis, and the great obligation to honor one’s wife and to speak strengthening words to her. Rabbi Berland shlit"a also spoke about the secret of “the Green Line,” as a preparation for the great day of Lag B’Omer.

“So, if a man doesn’t know how to tell his wife: ‘You are so wise, you are so precious,’ as it is written, ‘My sister, my beloved, my dove, my perfect one’—this is ‘Many daughters have done valiantly, but you surpass them all.’ We sing this on Friday night after Ma’ariv. So someone who doesn’t know how to say this—he shouldn’t get married. All of this is in the Zohar, page 42: A man needs to tell his wife, ‘Many daughters have done valiantly [but you surpass them all].’ You are the wisest woman, the most wonderful; you are the most successful woman, you are the most… Not to say, ‘My mother cooks better,’ and ‘My sister cooks better.’”
“A person needs to know that everything he has—it is all in the merit of his wife!”
These are some of the wondrous words—fiery and flame-carving—spoken by Rabbi Berland shlit"a in tonight’s shiur for the residents of Petach Tikvah.
