Kollel students of "Kever Rachel Institutions," under the leadership of Rav Moshe Menachem Kluger shlit"a, merited to enter Rav Berland's home on the evening of 7 Adar Bet, for a special shiur by Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a for students learning in the evening Kollel and the Kollel Chatzot. In the shiur, the Rav shlit"a strengthened the kollel students in preparation for the days of Purim in the proper preparation for the days of Purim, especially regarding "A person is obligated to become intoxicated," while mentioning the Breslov custom for generations, that to become intoxicated means to drink a little wine, and not to, G-d forbid, drink excessively, through which a person becomes nullified from prayer and Torah learning. In the course of the shiur, the Rav spoke about the greatness of 7 Adar, and the greatness of immersing in Miriam's well -- in the Kinneret -- specifically on 7 Adar.  Likewise he encouraged them to pray about the war in the Ukraine, and that every person needs to be prepared to sacrifice himself for the sanctification of Hashem's name, and to be like Yitzchak at the binding, when he requested from Avraham, "Tie me well," as is brought in the holy books.  Over the course of the shiur, the Rav explained that today to die for the sanctification of Hashem's name is learning Gemara. Towards the end of the shiur, the Rav spoke of the value of prayer with niggunim (melodies) and the value of singing and dancing.  Afterwards, he concluded the shiur with the story of the Megilah, and with chizzuk regarding the greatness of the days of Purim, in which all the gates are opened.  The Rav concluded with the song, "Esther added and spoke before the king, fell before his legs, cried, and pleaded with him..." and the song, "My G-d, my G-d, why have You abandoned me."  Over some ten minutes, the Rav sang with the kollel students with great vitality.  After the shiur, the students went out to the courtyard of the prayer hall to pray Maariv with fiery enthusiasm.
