Shuvu Banim Kiryat Gat in a Shiur at the Home of the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Shuvu Banim Kiryat Gat ○ Summary from the Shiur

The southern city of Kiryat Gat is known as one of the cities with the greatest amount of teshuvah in recent years. This phenomenon is expressed mainly thanks to the extensive activity of Breslov Chassidim—students of The Rav shlit"a—who draw the city’s youth closer. In the city there are about four synagogues connected to Rebbe Nachman, and almost all of them are also connected to The Rav Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. Every single day, shiurim take place, and even prayers accompanied by singing and nigunim. Some of those Breslov Chassidim—students of The Rav shlit"a—who live in Kiryat Gat merited to enter, on Wednesday night, the 23rd of Av, before Ma’ariv, into the holy residence of The Rav shlit"a to hear words of the Living G-d. Below is a summary—like a drop from the sea—of The Rav shlit"a’s words that were said during the shiur:

The Rav shlit"a began the shiur with the topic of Tzafnis, the mother of Avner. After that, he moved on to speak about Kabbalistic secrets regarding the joining of Rachel and Leah—through which the Geulah will come. He also spoke about how Aharon was a gilgul of Haran, who jumped into the fire after Avraham Avinu, and through his mesirus nefesh he merited that all the Imahos were among his descendants. The Rav said that Aharon came to repair Haran’s sin—because Haran did not believe in Avraham with complete wholeness. The Rav also spoke about the matter of the “scorpions,” as Rechavam said: “My father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions.” In the midst of these words, the Rav strengthened everyone regarding alacrity in going to the mikveh, and he brought the Gemara in Chullin (24) that Rabbi Chanina, at the age of eighty, would stand on one foot. The Rav also encouraged traveling to Uman, and said that a person must travel even with mesirus nefesh!. Continuing the shiur, the Rav spoke about the Gemara in Bava Metzia regarding “a kav within four amos,” and said that all lost things are found with the Tzaddik, and he brought a remez to this. He also mentioned the matter of Nikras HaTzur, where Eliyahu HaNavi said that he wants “mouth to mouth I will speak with him, and in a vision and not in riddles,” like Moshe; and Hashem told him that even if he were to fast a billion years, he could not be like Moshe. In the midst of these words, the Rav spoke about praying in the Cave of Eliyahu and also at the grave of Elisha, and he cited the days of Moharanat, where Rabbi Nosson writes that he traveled there. After a shiur of close to fifty minutes (47), The Rav shlit"a said Kaddish and concluded the shiur with a blessing to all the participants, and immediately went out to Ma’ariv with a great crowd from the balcony of his home.
