Testimonies from the Words of Rav Berland shlit"a on the 'Selected Chapters'
Recently Revealed

Many have already become acquainted with the wonderful light of the "Selected Chapters" revealed by our teacher, the holy Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a. These chapters, which descended to the world and connected to the light of the Tikkun HaKlali (General Rectification), aim to help the souls of Israel reach complete tikkun even in our generation. Rabbi Mordechai reveals to us the wonderful way in which the "Selected Chapters" were revealed to the world and their power, according to the words of our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a.
These are his words:
"Rav Eliezer Berland always tells everyone to say the Tikkun HaKlali, and to say the Tikkun HaKlali seven times; he always encourages this. However, there is another awesome and terrible thing, this is a point that has been publicized in the last year and a half - the awesome revelation of the Selected Chapters."
"The Rav said, at least whoever can add the Selected Chapters once a week, happy is he and happy is his portion, because it polishes all the rust from the intellect, all the most difficult blemishes."
How were the Selected Chapters revealed to the world?
"The subject is as follows: 21 years ago, in 5759, Rabbi A. Ben Shaul from the holy community said to our teacher, Rav Berland, 'There is someone who has gone through difficult and terrible things, what should be done with him?' And of course, everyone needs to say the Tikkun HaKlali. Our teacher, Rav Berland, took out a page and wrote on it the names of ten chapters - 51, 35, 36, 60, 68, 80, 83, 88, 89, 109 - and told him to say them. The Rav also wrote a prayer for him there to say, and to do teshuvah, and with Hashem's help, it would help him."
"And then our teacher, Rav Berland, also said to one of the tzaddikim in Jerusalem, R' David HaKohen, that Rebbe Nachman of Breslov is the one who revealed these chapters to him - these are chapters that help to bring a person out of the lowest depths, from the most difficult situations. He began to list things there, and said all the things, very difficult things; all these chapters are effective for teshuvah for all these things."
Our teacher, Rav Berland, confirms the power of the Selected Chapters
"I asked the Rav in Sivan 5759, 'Rav, is it true, this whole story that there is teshuvah and tikkun for the most difficult things and that it scrubs the entire soul of a person, cleanses him, is it true in the name of the Rav?' He answered: 'Yes, it is true!'"
"I asked the Rav, this was during the Korbanot (sacrificial offerings) of Shacharit, 'Is it worth distributing this?' The Rav said: 'Distribute it as much as possible throughout the whole world!'"
"We heard this statement in innocence. The chapters are those we mentioned earlier; the Rav repeated the chapters, and he also wrote the same chapters explicitly for Rabbi Yitzchak Z., and there are also those same chapters for Rabbi A. Ben Shaul, and he told us the same chapters. And there are several other people to whom the Rav said the same thing."
"I asked the Rav what to call those chapters, a tikkun for something? The Rav thought for a second and said: 'Selected Chapters'. One of the members, Rabbi A. Ch., told us that 'Selected Chapters' (Perakim Nivcharim) is exactly the gematria of 'Pgam HaBrit' (blemish of the covenant). We repeat and say that there is the Tikkun HaKlali and immersion in a mikvah of purity that Rebbe Nachman said one must do every day, and to strive to purify the person. However, these chapters, our teacher, Rav Berland said, whoever can say them at least once a week."
"The Rav said to one of the members - 'I thought you understood what is being said to you,' but at least once a week. To another person, he said to say it on Shabbat. Once he said at the end of the prayer, which I heard, I said to him, 'Perhaps the Rav will strengthen the point of the Selected Chapters, people don't always believe new things at the end of the prayer.' There was a part of the prayer where there wasn't much of a loudspeaker; after that, I asked what the Rav said, and they told me that the Rav said that everyone from Shuvu Banim should say the Selected Chapters at least once a week. Here he said it explicitly. Did the Rav say to say them every day? Certainly, whoever can say them every day..."
"These chapters, the Rav said, when I was in Bat Yam, that one can say all the virtues about them, all the virtues. And at another time, the Rav said that it not only atones but also saves the person and prevents him from sinning; these Selected Chapters truly thwart schemes."
Chapters of outcry and screaming to polish the soul of man
"Another point, I once spoke with one of the great Torah scholars in the community, and he expounded on this, that these are truly chapters of outcry. Anyone who sees these chapters, 'How many have saved me,' 'How many have laid a trap for me...', whoever sees these chapters truly identifies with what our generation is going through. Enough, it is no longer possible like this; people want something for the soul. Everyone in the sermons speaks: 'A person who speaks lashon hara, his mitzvot pass to him and his mitzvot...', 'A person who blemished his eyes once, all his mitzvot are burned, everything goes to the Sitra Achra.' People speak in sermons words that make the public despair and they don't know how to say these words. And people are already going crazy, 'I do mitzvot...', but there is a tikkun, with Hashem's help."
"A person persists every day in saying the Tikkun HaKlali, whoever can go to the mikvah every day, and at least once a week will say the atomic bomb - the Selected Chapters. I repeat the chapters: 51, 35, 36, 60, 68, 80, 83, 88, 89, 109."
"And our teacher, Rav Berland, revealed another wonderful and awesome thing, that the secret of this is the secret of the 'legless beggar' from the Tales of Rebbe Nachman, that he rectifies, as it is written in 'Kochavei Or' by Rabbi Avraham ben Rabbi Nachman, that it rectifies the prince who fell from faith completely. Because our generations have fallen from faith completely, there is no mochin (intellect), the Rav repeated this several times. There is no brain and no heart, there is no mochin at all, to serve Hashem without feelings, truly like a snake. People have nothing, they are looking for something that will return the spark to them, the vitality - these are these Selected Chapters that return to a person... and the Rav said that they should be distributed everywhere in the world."
"Rabbi Shlomo Gabbai related that our teacher, Rav Berland, said, 'If you had eyes to see, you would see that every second, Rebbe Nachman is standing before me and speaking with me.' The Rav merited wonderful attainments; the tzaddik, the 'Chalev' (the Milkman), R' Chaim HaKohen, said that the holy Rebbe Nachman of Breslov was embodied in Rav Berland completely."
"I must say that the responses we received about the Selected Chapters... from all over the country, young people are arriving, secular people, those becoming strengthened, people with jeans come to me and say, 'Listen, we need this,' they come and take, this one 500, this one 300, it is unbelievable how people want this wonderful tikkun."
"A person called me and said that in a few minutes he is arriving at my house, and said, 'I am donating 10,000 shekels so that you will distribute 10,000 Selected Chapters.' I didn't believe it; within a few minutes he arrived and left me 50 bills of 200 shekels, 'Take this, leave it, it's anonymous.' And he said, 'You don't know who Rav Berland is, you have no idea who Rav Berland is, he is such a tzaddik that you have no idea who he is, what he has accomplished and changed in my life. Know that I went through all the sins in the world, I went through the most difficult things in the world, and the one who brought me close and the one who touched my point was Rav Eliezer Berland.' He gave this donation and said anonymously, without words, all the best."
"We received encouragement from all sorts of other people who said that it is truly air to breathe, they managed to live anew, the breath returned to them anew after all the spiritual Holocaust that we are in here now - the chapters of outcry of King David save their soul, they identify with every word. Every person who reads the chapters will identify with the words, what meaning is there, what David says, 'Save me,' 'How many have laid a trap for me.'"
"Whoever looks at Psalm 88, what sentences King David says. Every person who goes through falls, if he says this, he will feel truly connected in the soul to these words."
"Happy are we that we have merited."
