The Agreement with El Al to Zimbabwe Has Been Cancelled

עורך ראשי

For those who remember, last year, shortly after the Rav [Rabbi Berland] arrived in Zimbabwe, an aviation agreement was signed between El Al and Ethiopian Airlines. This reduced the prices to Zimbabwe by almost half!! From prices of $1500 and up to prices around $850.

Now, half a year after the Rav left, the agreement with El Al has been cancelled. This shows clearly to the senses that from Heaven, the entire agreement was intended solely to help Anash (members of our community) reach the Rav at more reasonable prices...

"El Al Code to be Removed from Ethiopian Airlines Flights"

The code-share agreement between the two companies is being frozen immediately following the fighting in the Suez Gulf region. El Al states: Passengers with tickets will be referred to the Ethiopian call center.

El Al announced today (Monday) the freezing of the code-share agreement with Ethiopian Airlines due to changes in the flight schedule determined by the Ethiopian airline following the security situation in the Yemen region.

Ethiopian flights taking off from the capital, Addis Ababa, now include passing over Sudan and a stopover in Cairo, two destinations considered less safe for passengers from Israel. El Al's statement noted that the decision to remove the company's code from Ethiopian flights is immediate, and its passengers who have already purchased flight tickets will be transferred for assistance to the Ethiopian company's service centers.

This past weekend, an Ethiopian flight to Israel was delayed by several hours after it was not permitted to take off due to fear of damage to aircraft resulting from the Gulf states' attack on the rebels in Yemen.

The code-share agreement between El Al and Ethiopian Airlines, the largest airline in Africa, was signed in early 2014 with the aim of expanding the company's network of destinations in Africa, after Israel's security services imposed landing restrictions on it in the Black Continent. As part of the agreement, Ethiopian almost tripled the number of its flights on the Addis Ababa-Tel Aviv line from five flights a week to 14 on Boeing 737 aircraft.
