"The Entire Matter is Self-Sacrifice" - The Holy Group of Young Men from the Shuvu Banim Community with the Esteemed Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

On the fifth night of Chanukah, a gathering of young men dedicated to serving Hashem was held by the holy community of Shuvu Banim of Breslov chassidim, in the name of our Rebbe Mohara"n of Breslov, under the leadership of our teacher, the esteemed Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a. As is customary in these holy gatherings, Rav Berland shlit"a sang awakening melodies with the young men and then delivered his special words of holiness for the Chanukah holiday.
"[*] Days before Yom Kippur, all sins are forgiven, the main thing is that a person does not commit new sins. Hashem can forgive, for Him there is no problem to forgive, the main thing is that the person receives a new neshamah (soul) in which he is not capable of sinning, not capable of stealing, not capable of murdering. 'Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me' (Psalms 51:12), the entire matter of Chanukah is that in the dedication of the house, they rebuilt the Holy Temple anew, even though they were not obligated to fight for the Holy Temple, there is no such obligation. There is no obligation to dismantle the mosques for the Holy Temple, but the first ones went beyond the letter of the law. The most meticulous of the meticulous, because the entire matter of Chanukah is self-sacrifice."
"Self-sacrifice is when one is not obligated by the law, self-sacrifice is when a person sits and learns all night, he is not obligated by the law, but he offers a sacrifice to Hashem, he binds himself to Hashem. The entire matter of Chanukah, explains the Zohar (Shelach Lecha 173b), is that the world stands only on those who bind themselves for Kiddush Hashem. Not those who learn out of weakness, or because their father said, or because they have already gotten used to learning, everything they learn is out of self-sacrifice."
"Chanukah is the self-sacrifice of the Hasmoneans, of the Maccabees. Mattathias was a spark of Mashiach ben David."
