The Esteemed Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a Eulogizes Shmuel Magen z"l

Rosh Chodesh Adar II, 5779 has arrived, and although it is written, 'When Adar enters, we increase in joy,' a heavy mourning has descended upon the people of Israel following the passing of the young Torah scholar Shmuel Isaac Magen z"l. Blessed is the True Judge. Shmuel z"l, who belonged to the holy Breslov 'Shuvu Banim' community and was a student at the 'Atidecha' educational center, was critically injured in a car accident while on his way to pray at the Tomb of Rachel.
Our teacher, the Gaon and Tzaddik Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a, eulogized our dear friend Shmuel Magen z"l.
"Shmuel followed the tzaddik of this generation. He is of the soul of Mashiach ben David. Through this, he atones for all the sins in Israel. He is now *protecting* (magen) us."
"It is written in all the books that on the 1st of Adar, the soul of Mashiach will be revealed—either he will depart from the world or he will be revealed. Shmuel Magen was the soul of Mashiach ben David, and he departed from the world, and through this, he atones for all the children of Israel. Now he is protecting us; he has become the angel Michael, as it is written, 'A woman of valor is a crown to her husband.'"
"Our Rebbe says in Torah 61 that the soul of a tzaddik that ascends to heaven is a chuppah (wedding canopy), so now it is a chuppah. He was the most righteous and holy person in the generation; there was none like him and there will never be another. He is now *protecting* (magen) us in heaven and on earth; he is an advocate for our merit."
"We all must now bow (accept with love) and know that Hashem leads this world and the World to Come."
May his soul be bound in the bond of life.
