The Kabbalist Rabbi Chaim Cohen Perachia 'The Milkman' zt"l

Rabbi Meir Shlomo zt"l related in the name of the Kabbalist Rabbi Chaim Cohen Perachia, 'The Milkman' zt"l, that the Milkman warned many times about things that were going to happen and about heavenly decrees (geziros) that are revealed to unique, chosen tzaddikim so that they may warn [the public], but "there is one tzaddik named Rabbi Berland who is constantly nullifying the decrees."

Rabbi Meir Shlomo zt"l related personal testimony from within the court of the Milkman zt"l that a tzaddik does not consider the fact that he might be disgraced. For the tzaddikim, the main thing is to do the will of Hashem, and the Milkman zt"l warned many times about things that were going to happen, because from Heaven they issue decrees and reveal this to unique, chosen tzaddikim so that they may warn [others]. This is a very great responsibility."

"The Milkman constantly needs to announce and warn about decrees that are revealed to him from Heaven, and afterwards he was seemingly proven wrong, as people do teshuvah (repentance) or from Above they nullify the decrees. Indeed, they asked the Milkman, 'You are constantly announcing [these things] and the events do not occur'?"

The Milkman, Rabbi Chaim Cohen zt"l, answered: "What can I do? There is one tzaddik named Rabbi Berland who is constantly nullifying the decrees."

"Rabbi Berland sees the decrees and nullifies them. The tzaddik who nullifies decrees also utilizes the teshuvah (repentance) performed by the public; people are shocked and awakened, and through this, the Rav shlit"a has the power to nullify decrees. Our forefather Abraham warned against sacrificing to Molech, and suddenly at the Binding of his son, he goes to do the opposite of what he warned against his entire life, but the tzaddikim do not care; they do the will of Hashem without thinking about how the matter will appear in the eyes of people.
