"The Mashiach Will Rectify the Nunim" - The Righteous Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a Visits the Spinka Rebbe

On Thursday of Parshat Chayei Sarah, 23rd of Cheshvan 5779, the esteemed righteous Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a visited the holy abode of the Spinka Rebbe in Bnei Brak. We present to you the sacred sights from the visit and the words of Rav Berland shlit"a as delivered on Motza'ei Shabbat.

"To increase the authority and for peace without end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom, to establish it and to support it with justice and righteousness from now and forever, the zeal of Hashem of hosts will perform this" (Isaiah 9:6). The prophet Isaiah says, "The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined" (ibid. 9:1). The prophet foretells that now will be like the day when Gideon and his men defeated Midian. Three hundred men defeated soldiers as numerous as the sand of the sea."

"Everything depends on - "For a child is born to us, a son is given to us, and the authority is upon his shoulder, and his name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace" (ibid. 9:5). The verse hints that whoever will open the closed mem of "to increase the authority" will merit to be the King Mashiach. Then the two nunim of "And it came to pass when the ark set forward" (Numbers 10:35), which are currently inverted, will be rectified, and whoever rectifies the two nunim will bring the redemption and be the King Mashiach."

"Therefore, the Mashiach will be called Yinon, "Before the sun, his name is Yinon" (Psalms 72:17), because he will rectify the nunim. "She has fallen, she will not rise again" (Amos 5:2) - the nun hints at falling and rising, so the moment we open the mem, it will turn into two nunim. "To increase the authority and then for peace without end upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom, to establish it and to support it with justice and righteousness from now and forever, the zeal of Hashem will perform this."
