The Murder of the Young Man in Jerusalem – Egla Arufah (The Beheaded Heifer) • The Daily Lesson from Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Before you is a summary of the topics from the daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a – yesterday after the Maariv (evening) prayer, Wednesday night, the 19th of Tevet 5786, Parshat Shemos:
1. Everyone is learning Likutey Halachos (the seminal work of Reb Noson of Breslov). Laws of the Evening Prayer (Arev) 5, page 78, regarding the fact that if a person wants to know how many drops are in Tiberias (the Sea of Galilee), he should check how much Jacob poured out (as a libation) in Beit El, for he poured out as many drops as there are in the Sea of Tiberias.
2. Afterwards, study the Laws of Gifts (Matana) 5; the entire holiday of Chanukah is in the merit of Hannah. When she prayed, "The bow of the mighty is broken," this refers to the zodiac sign of Sagittarius (the Bow), in which the bow of Greece will be broken.
3. Antiochus left the war in Persia in order to fight the Jews; in the end, his body was filled with worms and they threw him by the side of the road.
4. Now, the most righteous young man was murdered, named Yosef Eisenthal (during a protest); we must bring an Egla Arufah (the ritual of the beheaded heifer performed when a murder victim is found) for him.
5. Yosef studied the laws of Egla Arufah with his father. It was a hint to him that he would undergo the aspect of Egla Arufah.
6. Zepho, the son of Eliphaz, conquered Rome from the hands of the Greeks in the merit of the blessing of Isaac. He then became the first king of Rome.
7. Tomorrow everyone is traveling to the Rambam (the tomb of Maimonides in Tiberias); in the merit of the Rambam, the Geulah (Redemption) will come. It is written in the Midrash (homiletic teachings) that the Rambam was supposed to be Mashiach (the Messiah).
8. The final date is in the year 5972; until then everyone needs to live, and Mashiach will arrive this very day.
8. Everyone is traveling now to a wedding. All the young men who do not have a Yeshiva (Torah academy) shall study Tractate Megillah until Purim, and afterwards they shall study Tractate Pesachim.
