The Obligation to Save Lives
Rabbi Ofer Erez on the Situation of Rabbi Berland shlit"a and Its Connection to the State of the World

The esteemed Rabbi Ofer Erez shlit"a shares profound words regarding the situation of the great tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, and the state of the entire world. How the coronavirus pandemic, the coming of Mashiach, and the Geulah are connected to the actions of Rav Berland.
We see that terrible things are happening with Rav Berland shlit"a; in terms of the state, the law, and the judicial system, these are things that have never happened before. That a Jew at the age of Rav Berland, 82 and older, in his medical condition, is kept in detention like this—when in fact they do not exactly know for what—they are still looking for what to accuse the Rav of.
We know and believe that Rav Berland has entered the throat of the Sitra Achra (the side of impurity) in order to break it.
Rabbi Moshe David Vali zt"l (a disciple of the Ramchal zt"l) writes in Sefer HaLikutim that Mashiach will intentionally descend into the 'tree of death' (see Zohar, Vol. 3, 119a), into the depths of the Sitra Achra and the kelipot—and with his great power, he will break them from within his descent, from within this reality.
On the very day they arrested Rav Berland, the coronavirus disease was discovered in the country, and the Rav said, 'When the tzaddik is in quarantine, the whole world is in quarantine.'
Everything that is happening in the world is connected to the path of Rav Berland; he is performing immense and very wonderful tikkunim in the world. From what we hear in his talks, Rav Berland is not confused by anything—not by tens of hours of interrogation, nor by the terrible abuse. Rav Berland continues with vitality in his Torah study, in holiness, and in prayers, as if nothing touches or concerns him.
All we know is that Rav Berland is performing immense and wonderful tikkunim in the world, and fortunate is he who merits to be saved from the controversy surrounding the Rav. On the contrary, one must hold onto Rav Berland, connect with the Rav, and be in contact with him.
There is no doubt that all of Rav Berland's actions now are the final clarifications leading up to the Geulah.
May it be the will of Hashem that we merit to greet Mashiach ben David with mercy and kindness.
