The Opportune Time for the Jewish People: Bringing Emunah to Every Home

Class No. 271 | Cassette No. 271
In a generation where fear and despair rule, the Jewish people are thirsting for emunah (faith) and bitachon (trust in Hashem) more than ever. The Rav explains why right now is the opportune time to go from house to house, to establish Torah institutions, and to illuminate hearts in the merit of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov.
We are currently in a moment of "Achishena" (hastening the Redemption). If we go from house to house, we can hasten the Geulah (Redemption). Now is the time to go out, immediately after the Minchah or Maariv prayers, and walk until the late hours of the night from house to house, without skipping a single apartment.
We see how entire cities are transforming for the good. People are sitting in their homes, just waiting for the yeshiva students to come to them, for the people of Shuvu Banim to arrive. Even people who seemingly appear very distant, when you sit and speak with them, ultimately open their hearts, donate to support Torah, and even complain about why no one came to them earlier. In every home, they are waiting for someone to come.
The Thirst for Emunah and Bitachon
Today, everyone already knows that if there are people with *emunah* and *bitachon*, these are the people who will bring the salvation. The Jewish people are waiting for those Jews with a Charedi appearance, with peyos (sidelocks) and beards, to enter their homes and bring them emunah and bitachon in Hashem, may He be blessed. We must guard our peyos and not treat them lightly, because these are the people who will bring the Geulah to the Jewish people.
Unfortunately, many people today no longer have bitachon. The situation is difficult, there are dangers everywhere, and only the Torah will protect us. Therefore, this is the moment when the entire Jewish people are waiting to hear the voice of emunah. Everyone understands that the only thing that can save us now is the path of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov. Rebbe Nachman is alive and enduring; he is present and speaks from within us, and only he can save us and breathe new *emunah* into us.
A Merit That Stands for Generations
Reb Nosson of Breslov teaches us that the greatest thing is to go from house to house to collect funds for establishing more yeshivas, more mikvahs, and more synagogues. We must act vigorously to establish thousands of yeshivas. This is the time to bring the Jewish people back in teshuvah (repentance). When we go from house to house, people will see that the entire Jewish nation is returning in teshuvah, and they too will want to take part and not remain outside the camp.
Regarding this action, it is said:
"His righteousness endures forever"
When a person establishes a synagogue or a yeshiva, it is a place that stands for generations. People come there to learn, and afterward, their children and descendants come to learn there until the end of all generations. All these merits are credited to that person who went out, awakened people, and sometimes even suffered humiliation for the sake of the cause.
Zealousness for Hashem in Our Generation
In the past, whoever went out to spread Torah would suffer terrible humiliation. But today, the situation has changed. People feel exposed to dangers; they understand that there is nowhere to run and no one to lean on. Therefore, when we come to them with a Book of Psalms, with a kippah, and speak with them in the merit of the holy Rebbe Nachman—they see salvations. Today, there is no longer any humiliation; if we go from house to house, they will welcome us with open arms.
And even if a person does encounter humiliation, his spiritual level is even higher. When a person goes and brings merit to the masses in this way, establishing yeshivas, this is called "zealousness for Hashem." Reb Nosson speaks about Pinchas, who was zealous for Hashem. The zealousness for Hashem in our generation, until Mashiach ben David arrives, is to go from house to house, collect funds, and establish another yeshiva and another yeshiva, until the entire land is filled with yeshivas. In this way, the entire land will be filled with teshuvah, and everyone will return to Hashem.
