Before you is a summary of the daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a (may he live long and good days) – yesterday after the Maariv (evening) prayer, Thursday night, the 10th of Sivan, Parshas Naso:
In another four and a half hours it will be Chatzos (midnight). This Saturday night, we are going to the Kotel (Western Wall) immediately after Melaveh Malkah (the meal following the conclusion of Shabbat). The Rav will arrive at the Kotel half an hour later. We will recite seven Tikkun HaKlalis (the General Rectification prayers) from 23:30 to 00:30; everyone will be able to see the Rav. Einstein used to learn all the material during Bein HaZmanim (intersession/vacation), so all that was left for him to do was throw "klipos" (metaphorical shells/husks) at the teachers. The principal found a solution, claiming he had pneumonia and must travel to the Alps in Switzerland to recover. He invented the atom [theory]; one needs to reduce the Uranium from 238 to 235. Through tzimtzum (contraction/reduction), one can transform anything: copper to iron, and lead to gold. The Chovos HaLevavos (Duties of the Heart) says to stop saying it's possible to turn lead into gold; one must study Chovos HaLevavos every day. But there were those who knew the formula to turn iron into gold, by adding more protons from 23 to 59. Madame Curie actually discovered the secret of the atom. A woman always knows more than a man. It is written that Bruriah learned in one day what takes three years to learn, and she further learned the equivalent of three hundred camels laden with holy books that were hidden away (Genizah). A woman can learn in seconds what takes a son a year to learn. If Hitler were alive today, he would receive a Nobel Peace Prize for killing the Jews. The miracle was that Hitler did not agree to use the atom [bomb]; he said that because a Jew touched it, it was forbidden to use it. Because they dropped an eighth of a gram of an atom on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, seventy thousand turned to dust immediately, seventy thousand died within another week, and three years later, three hundred thousand died from burns, etc. So, the one who invented the formula for the atom was Madame Curie. Gold is 79, copper is 82, and Uranium is 92. Over 90 years, it drops by ten to 82, so they wanted to reduce the Uranium by another three so it would become the substance of gold – 79. So everyone is going to the Kotel this Saturday night. After that, everyone will return home and say Tehillim (Psalms). Each person should study Sotah 23b, as well as Divrei HaYamim (Chronicles) regarding the matter of "Goren Kidon" (the threshing floor of Kidon), whereas in Shmuel (Samuel) it is written "Goren Nachon" (the threshing floor of Nachon). Now, the men do not sleep; the boys learn ten pages of Gemara (Talmud). And everyone should learn with his wife Birchas HaPeiros (The Blessing of Fruits), chapter 5, which results in the calculation that if there are ten daughters, the daughter receives more than the son; all daughters always receive double in everything. Now, there were 24 living hostages; one was released, leaving 23. In the meantime, three more died, leaving twenty. We must bring food to the hostages. Everyone should study the Gemara in Kesubos regarding how Moshe (Moses) did not know the halachah (law) that a daughter inherits. The answer to this is that Moshe thought [Zelophehad] was among the assembly of Korach, and whoever was in the assembly of Korach did not receive an inheritance (nachala). This is what the daughters [of Zelophehad] said—that he was not in the assembly of Korach, but died for his own sin.
