The Reason Joseph Did Not Tell His Father That the Brothers Sold Him • The Daily Lesson from the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

The Pillar of Fire and the Redemption, the Path to Tikkun (rectification) and Prophecy: Is it possible that the path to Geulah (Redemption) passes through our lifestyle? In previous generations, a girl who merited to walk in the path of holiness was illuminated with prophetic fire. Today, the way back to the pillar of fire passes through breaking the screens and drawing closer to true spirituality. In this article, we will dive into the depth of the matter – what is the secret of the holy girls who used to fly in the air? How can we restore the holiness of the Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple)? And how is this related to your Xiaomi [smartphone]?

Before you is the full daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a (may he live long and good days), on Sunday, Parshas Yitro, the night of the 19th of Shevat, 5784, after the Maariv (evening) prayer:

"Every day there are twenty-one killed; this is all because not all the girls are lengthening their skirts yet. And every girl needs to break her Xiaomi (smartphone), every boy should break the Xiaomi, and then upon every girl there will be an Amuda d'Nura (pillar of fire).

Just like [during the time of] the First and Second Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple), when every girl who went to the Beis HaMikdash had a pillar of fire upon her, and torches of fire surrounded her. And she would know through prophecy everything happening in the world; she didn't need to listen to a Xiaomi or a smartphone—she knew everything happening in the world through prophecy.

Like Serach the daughter of Asher, who knew that Joseph was alive. Therefore, they placed Asher under a cherem (excommunication) for the two hundred and ten years they were in Egypt, and another forty years in the desert. Asher was under excommunication because he revealed to his daughter all the secrets that were forbidden to reveal—that Joseph was alive. Anyone who revealed that Joseph was alive would die on the spot. And therefore, Joseph did not meet with his father for all those seventeen years [after they were reunited in Egypt], except for the first and last time, so that his father would not ask what happened. His father thought that Hamas had kidnapped him.

For Joseph was among the captives (hostages); for twenty-two years he was among the captives. Dinah was among the captives, and Ahinoam the Jezreelite was among the captives, and Abigail the Carmelite was among the captives. Thus we have a long list of male and female captives, in addition to the one hundred and thirty-six there are today (correct at the time the lesson was given). And David himself was among the captives, and Avishai did not care about the Hague (International Court), and he didn't care about anyone. He entered Rafah and released him, even though it was forbidden; according to international law, it was forbidden... So Avishai recited the Shem HaMeforash (Explicit Name of G-d), entered Rafah, and released him.

So the moment every girl breaks the Xiaomi and walks with long skirts, she will fly in the air. Like those from Tzippori who used to fly in the air. Throughout the Second Beis HaMikdash period, they would fly in the air—from Meron, from Tzippori, from Kfar Shamai—they would fly in the air and return before the sun rose over the fig tree. They would pray Vasikin (the sunrise prayer) in the Beis HaMikdash. In the Second Beis HaMikdash, there was already Vasikin, there was already the Shemoneh Esrei (the Eighteen Benedictions prayer); they prayed the Shemoneh Esrei three times every day.

For it is written in Halacha (Jewish Law) that a girl must pray all three prayers because it is d'Rabbanan (a Rabbinic enactment). When it is d'Rabbanan, the rule of 'positive time-bound commandments' [from which women are usually exempt] does not apply, and the girl is obligated. In the past, there were no washing machines and no dryers, but today, when there are washing machines and everything is automatic, and the girl is idle twenty-four hours a day, then she needs three prayers a day—she is obligated. And then there will be upon her an Amuda d'Nura (pillar of fire) and torches of fire like Devorah the Prophetess, who had an Amuda d'Nura and torches of fire upon her.

And may we merit the complete Geulah (Redemption) speedily in our days, Amen!"
