The Redemption of Captives
A Lithuanian Avrech Testifies About a Miracle That Happened to Him After Donating to Save Rabbi Berland shlit"a

Following the announcement of the emergency campaign for the Pidyon Shvuyim of our teacher, the holy Gaon Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a, a Litvish avreich from England shared a personal miracle that occurred after he decided to donate.
This same Litvish avreich testifies that he had only seen our teacher Rav Berland once in his life, yet he says he decided to donate 500 shekels for Pidyon Shvuyim (as requested by the Rabbis). This was an act of self-sacrifice for him, but the donation did not take long to return—these are his words.
"I am afraid to speak to such a holy community (the holy congregation of Breslov 'Shuvu Banim'), 'Shuvu Banim,' 'Knishta Chada,' the only community in the world that is truly bringing the Geulah closer. I am a Litvish avreich who lives in Gateshead, England (a city home to a Haredi Jewish community of about 500 families, which maintains, among other things, the Gateshead Yeshiva), and even though I am Litvish, I feel the love that Rav Berland has for every Jew—Rav Berland knows what he takes upon himself for the sake of Klal Yisrael."
"I strive to say seven Tikkun HaKlali every day (as the Rav requested for his success), and I see much Divine Providence in all my affairs."
"Although I am a Kollel avreich (and the situation of avreichim is well known), when I heard that an emergency campaign was being held for Rav Berland, I did not think twice and donated 500 shekels."
"Immediately upon donating, I received a message from the bank that I had exceeded my credit limit; I didn't know how to tell my wife. I prayed and said to Hashem, 'I didn't do this for myself, but for the sake of the tzaddik, and even if I lose out because of this, I have no regrets.'"
"Listen to the Divine Providence—that same day I studied in the Kollel with enthusiasm and the thought that I had done the right thing. At the end of the study session, the Kollel secretary approached me and told me about an account, stating that for more than a year, they had owed me more than 500 shekels. The next day, yesterday, the money was already deposited into our account; I didn't lose anything, I only received more."
"I learn from this a 'kal v'chomer' (a fortiori argument). I am a Litvish Jew living under the 'shell' of the Diaspora (as he puts it), and what do I even understand about our teacher Rav Berland shlit"a? (Yet I donated and saw miracles). Baruch Hashem, I prayed not to be influenced by all the lies heard in the world. I asked Hashem, 'Master of the Universe, guide me on the path of truth to see who the true tzaddik is.' A 'kal v'chomer' to you, who are very close to Rav Berland, pray with him every day, and the Rav has truly brought many of you to teshuvah (repentance)—you will certainly receive back much more than 500 shekels."
"You know firsthand the magnitude of the self-sacrifice of Rav Berland; I am only from afar, I only met the Rav once, I didn't even know who he was then. You will certainly not lose out; I am truly jealous of you that you are close to Rav Berland. If the public can pray for me, Yisrael Meir ben Chava, that I may be closer to Rav Berland, I will have much gratitude for that. May I also merit to be in Jerusalem and see the release of the Rav, together with the entire process of the Geulah in Jerusalem, the Holy City."
