"The Role of the Woman is to Guard her Husband so He Does Not Oppose the Tzaddik" • The Daily Lesson from the Gaon and Tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Before you is a summary of topics from the daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a – yesterday after the Maariv (evening) prayer, Thursday night, the 28th of Marheshvan, Parshat Chayei Sarah:

The boys throw stones, but the girls do not throw stones; those who were in captivity could have been managers. A daughter possesses intelligence a million times greater than a man. The nature of boys is to throw stones. Women did not sin with the Golden Calf, nor with the Spies, nor in any other sin. The wife of On ben Pelet bought her husband a bottle of champagne so that he would sleep and not oppose the Tzaddik (Moses). Esau received the region of Champagne, but he wanted the dew of the resurrection of the dead—the blessings that Jacob received. Esau was the greatest in Kibbud Av v'Em (honoring one's father and mother); he did not want to kill Jacob during his father's lifetime, which is why he said, "The days of mourning for my father are approaching." Therefore, he took Machalat as a wife; any person who marries, even if he is the wicked Esau, all his sins are forgiven. For the role of the woman is to guard her husband so that he does not oppose the Tzaddik. Korach said it was all a fata morgana (mirage), claiming Moses learned to perform sorcery in Midian and that these were not miracles at all. The women were not enticed; a woman is as straight as a ruler. Only men are enticed by every bit of nonsense. They opened a Shuvu Banim Talmud Torah (boys' school) in Givat Olga where all the children know Mesillat Yesharim (The Path of the Just) by heart. It is written at the beginning: "That it should be clarified and verified for a person what his duty is in his world... for man was only created to delight in Hashem." Those who were at the Zikim beach on Simchat Torah (5784/2023) wanted to fulfill "And you shall rejoice in your festival," but 500 terrorists arrived. All the rapid response teams (Kitat Konenut) had their weapons taken from them, and those who did have weapons had no bullets. The Attorney General gives a life sentence to anyone who shoots a terrorist, hanging him by the head. Like Mussolini—if a person values the legs, in the end, they hang him by the legs. In the end, he is found in Gaza. Every girl needs to be a manager, to open a thousand seminaries (religious schools for girls) of a thousand girls—that is a million girls doing teshuvah (repentance). Every girl needs to study Nevi'im (Prophets) and say Tehillim (Psalms) every day. My father-in-law, Rabbi Avraham Shaki, would test his daughters on a chapter of Mishlei (Proverbs); whoever did not know it would be sent out of the house. Those who wanted to fulfill "And you shall rejoice in your festival" are now in Gan Eden (Paradise), but we want them here. Every day soldiers are killed; it is all because not all the girls lengthened their skirts to the ankle. The ceasefire in the north means that Hezbollah is allowed to fire and Israel is forbidden to return fire. I was at the Shiva (seven-day mourning period) for Rabbi Avraham Shaki and I heard Baruch Marzel say at the funeral of Rabbi Meir Kahane that throwing stones at Arabs is merely returning the stones they threw at us—this is Hashavat Aveida (the commandment of returning a lost object)... They will continue to fire from the north; Jerusalem is protected, but we must pray for all of Am Yisrael (the People of Israel). Let every girl open a seminary in the kibbutzim, then no girl will be in captivity in Gaza, and we will merit the complete Geulah (Redemption) speedily in our days, Amen!
