The Spiritual Reason for the Coronavirus

The panic of the coronavirus has struck the world. After the media began to publish the dimensions of the virus's spread across the globe, a syndrome of stress and panic began.

During the lesson, our teacher, the Gaon Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, expressed himself regarding the spiritual reason that led to the spread of the virus. Rav Berland shlit"a said that the coronavirus came to the world because of blemishes of the covenant (pgamim habrit), and also because of eating a limb from a living animal (eating an animal while it is still alive, as is customary in China, and the nations of the world are warned against this under penalty of death).

And behold, data published by the Ministry of Health reveals that the coronavirus truly comes from and spreads through the consumption of abominable foods. Today, most of those infected are connected to the source of the outbreak at the animal market in Wuhan, China (which has since been closed by order of the authorities).."

Our teacher, Rav Berland, continued and said that people do not connect disasters to human sins; "Achal Ever Min HaChai" (ate a limb from a living animal) has the same gematria as "Corona." The Rav added in his words and said that if we do not awaken, the virus could, Heaven forbid, reach Israel as well.

After the Shacharit prayer, our teacher, Rav Berland, said in his lesson, "They asked Rabbi Yossi ben Kisma when Mashiach ben David would come; he told them about the gate of the city of Panias, which is the Banias, and said, 'When this gate falls and they rebuild it, and it falls again.'"

Panias means fear. Now there is corona; a decade ago tens of thousands died there from the flu, because China is the most polluted, most unhygienic country; everything there is bacteria, they eat snakes, hedgehogs, mice, etc."
