The Three Weeks – A Wondrous Prayer from the Gaon and Tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

A wondrous prayer from our teacher, the holy Gaon and Tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, for the Three Weeks of the days of Bein HaMetzarim (the period of mourning between the 17th of Tammuz and the 9th of Av), which speaks of the following topics:

To merit approaching the King who is in the field, and to rectify the sin of the selling of Joseph, the killing of Nov, the city of Kohanim (priests), and baseless hatred.

Prayer for the Three Weeks

Master of the World, Almighty One, merit me during the Three Weeks to attain Chochmah, Binah, and Da’as (Wisdom, Understanding, and Knowledge), and may I have protection from Heaven,

And through this, may I merit the 370,000 lights that were taken from Chavah (Eve),

And may I merit to be one who "speaks the truth in his heart" like Rav Safra, for in the merit of him speaking the truth in his heart, the lion did not eat his donkey,

And in the merit of Mount Atzmon, where all the vessels of the Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple) were hidden (and where Napoleon dug to find all the vessels),

For now, during the Three Weeks, Hashem is the "King in the field," and every single person can approach the King,

And all of this is "this very day he shall stand at Nov" (a reference to the prophecy of Sancheriv), for all the Holocausts and destructions [occurred because],

We have not yet atoned for the sin of Nov, the city of Kohanim, whom Saul killed—elders and infants in a single day—through no fault of their own,

For all the destructions and Holocausts are to atone for the sin of the selling of Joseph and the killing of Nov, the city of Kohanim,

And for the baseless hatred that caused the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple).
