"The Wisdom of Women Builds Her House, but Folly Tears it Down with Her Own Hands" • The Daily Lesson from the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Presented before you is a summary from the daily lesson as delivered by our teacher, the Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a – yesterday after the Ma'ariv (evening) prayer, Tuesday night, the 29th of Tevet, Parshas Bo:
So the Ba'al HaTurim said that no one would enter the Land of Israel, not just Yehoshua (Joshua) and Kalev (Caleb). I didn't write this, and I didn't say this. From today, everyone enters, but Pharaoh said only Yehoshua and Kalev. Don't you study the Ba'al HaTurim? He allowed them to enter; why did he care if they entered? Korach said, "Will you gouge out our eyes?" Who decided it would take another forty years? Korach said all of Moshe's (Moses') tricks are a fata morgana (mirage). His wife brought him down. But the wife of On ben Pelet saved him; she bought him a bottle of champagne. "The wisdom of women builds her house"—this refers to the wife of On ben Pelet; "but folly tears it down with her own hands"—this is the wife of Korach. She claimed she was right because Moshe removed everyone's peyos (sidelocks). Because they had the status of metzoraim (lepers) since they didn't protest the sin of the Golden Calf, they were supposed to start a civil war. Afterward, a civil war began with terrible battles; therefore, among the tribe of Binyamin (Benjamin), six families are missing, and five families from the Levites. The daughters saved the situation; they did not give their nose rings for the Golden Calf. Every man tore the nose rings from his sister or his wife. The boys have the zohamas hanachash (impurity of the serpent); therefore, they throw stones. The Pischei Teshuvah discusses who must pay for the windows—the father or the one who suffered the damage. Rabbi David Oppenheimer ruled that the girls do not have the zohamas hanachash (impurity of the serpent). Tomorrow they are returning seven more female hostages. Agam Berger said she doesn't want to desecrate the Shabbat, so she was released on Thursday. Then seventy hostages will remain. Then every girl will open a seminar (religious school for girls); she will know mathematics and be able to open a seminar in Be'eri, in Kfar Aza, in Mefalsim. There, he [the enemy] didn't agree to return the bullets, so he killed fifteen, and then they all fled. They are actual Amalekites. They could conquer Gaza in one day, but they want soldiers to be killed; nearly a thousand soldiers have died, and it's all for nothing. Is it a problem to conquer it in one day? They go house to house, and all the houses are booby-trapped, so five young men are killed every day. But this will stop in the merit of the girls. Every girl should say Tehillim (Psalms) until Chatzos (midnight) and then say Tikkun Chatzos (midnight lamentation). The boys will study Gemara (Talmud), and we will merit the complete Geulah (Redemption) speedily in our days, Amen!
