"This Entire Yeshivah Exists in the Merit of the 'Lev Simchah'" — Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a on the Author of the 'Lev Simchah' of Gur and the Connection to Shuvu Banim — For the Yahrtzeit

In honor of the 30th yahrtzeit of the author of the Lev Simchah of Gur—R’ Rabbi Simchah Bunim Alter of Gur, who passed away thirty years ago on 7 Tammuz 5752—we bring you a segment from a shiur in which The Rav shlit"a spoke of his greatness about two years ago at a Chumash celebration for the children of the “Nechamas Tzion” Talmud Torah, and he tells about the connection of the author of the Lev Simchah to Shuvu Banim:
Today is the yahrtzeit of the Lev Simchah of Gur. As is known, he loved Breslov, he supported Breslov, and he sent the very best maggidei shiur. When we opened the yeshivah—exactly then the Lev Simchah was the Rebbe—and he sent the very best students to lead the yeshivah. This entire yeshivah exists in the merit of the ‘Lev Simchah’; it is his merit. And he goes before us—Tzaddikim do not pass away. He is here among us; this is the fruit of Rabbi Simchah’s toil. This entire yeshivah is the fruit of Rabbi Simchah’s toil. He is among us; he walks with us. Tzaddikim have not passed away! Tzaddikim do not pass away—Tzaddikim are alive and enduring forever and ever!
