Two Testimonies About the Connection Maran

Beyond the connection that the Sar HaTorah, HaGaon Rav Chaim Kanievsky (of blessed memory), had with our teacher Rav Berland shlit"a, he had a special connection to Breslov Chassidut. Before you are two testimonies regarding the Sar HaTorah's connection with Breslov Chassidut:

Rabbi Binyamin Bergstein, son of the Mashpia, the holy Rabbi Shimon Bergstein (of blessed memory), recounts:

"I was with him twenty years ago, and he said to me, 'I testify in the name of the Chafetz Chaim. The ban that the Gaon placed upon the Chassidim was not intended for Breslov.'

I told him that I feel that through studying Likutey Moharan, I receive fear of Heaven.

He replied and said, 'Certainly,' and even repeated it several times, as if there is no question at all regarding the greatness of our Rebbe."

Mayor of Beitar Illit, Rabbi Meir Rubinstein (may he live and be well), recounts:

"My friend, Rabbi Avraham Pinzel (may he live and be well), director of the 'Chochmat Shlomo' Talmud Torah, sat with me a few months ago at an event in the city of Beitar, and testified before me that he saw with his own eyes Maran Rabbi Chaim (of blessed memory) studying Likutey Moharan many times."
