NEWSFLASH: An urgent Purim letter from Rav Eliezer Berland

Rav Eliezer Berland, shlita, recently published the following hand-written note, just two short days after undergoing another serious operation.

The Israeli authorities are currently discussing whether to release the elderly tzaddik, who is currently in a very weak state physically, from prison. The Rav could be out before Purim - but he needs your help!

He's requesting that every single Breslov chassid, and every student of Shuvu Banim should donate 25 shekels, considered halachically to be equivalent to the 'half a shekel' that is customarily given just before Purim.

THIS IS THE TRANSLATED TEXT OF THE RAV'S HANDWRITTEN NOTE:

7th Adar, 5777  (the ‘coming of Moshiach’ 777)

For the attention of every Breslover Chassid generally, and especially the students of Shuvu Banim.

Please, each and every person should join together to give 25 shekels, which is considered the equivalent of the ‘half a shekel’ in our days, according to the psak [halachic ruling] of the Rabbi and Gaon, Meir Mazuz, shlita, equivalent to 9 grams of pure silver.

This is in order to cover the expenses of the two operations, and the legal costs. And, also, [please] pray that the Rav should get out of prison before Purim, because then two thirds are finished.

In the merit of Rabbenu HaKadosh [Rebbe Nachman], the holy, awesome Rebbe, and in the merit of the holy, pure Torah,

The Rav undertook his gruelling exile, and his current disgrace and imprisonment, in order to sweeten the terrible prophecies that 2/3 of the world would be destroyed before Moshiach comes - something that he alluded to in his note.

> Purim can cancel all the harsh decrees looming over the world!

Please pray that the tzaddik and gaon, Rav Eliezer Berland, shlita, gets out of prison before Purim, and that Moshiach can come the sweet way.
