Very Regrettable: What Happens to Those Who Pursue the Tzaddik

A first-hand testimony reveals to us the harsh reality brewing beneath the surface, and uncovers what happens when one persecutes and degrades Torah scholars.

"I want to tell you about a Jew who degraded our teacher, the holy Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, in front of many people. That same Jew is currently in the most difficult state imaginable. He is going through every trouble that exists, all the most terrible things that exist, in a simply horrific way."

"Last week, I participated in a seudat mitzvah where many Torah scholars were present. On that occasion, a Torah scholar who was there told me about that same Jew who spoke against the Rav, that he has already fallen into the worst things possible. He further told me about what is written in the Gemara: 'Rav Yehuda said in the name of Rav: Whoever degrades Torah scholars has no cure for his wound' (Shabbat 119b). This is learned from the verse, 'Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm' (Psalms 105:15). 'And do My prophets no harm' (816) equals exactly the gematria of - Rabbi Eliezer Berland (816)."

"May we all merit to cleave to the tzaddik of the generation, to the true tzaddik."
