Very Regrettable: What Happens to Those Who Pursue the Tzaddik, Foundation of the World

A firsthand testimony reveals to us the difficult reality simmering beneath the surface, showing us what happens when Torah scholars are pursued and disgraced.

"I want to tell you about a Jew who disgraced our teacher, the esteemed Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, in front of many people. That Jew is currently in the most difficult situation possible. He is experiencing all the troubles there are, all the most terrible things, in an absolutely dreadful manner."

"Last week, I participated in a mitzvah meal where there were many Torah scholars. On that occasion, a Jewish Torah scholar present there told me about that Jew who spoke against the Rav, saying he has already fallen into the worst things possible. He also told me about what is written in the Gemara, 'Rav Yehuda said in the name of Rav: Anyone who disgraces Torah scholars has no remedy for his wound' (Shabbat 119b), which we learn from the verse, 'Do not touch My anointed ones, and to My prophets do no harm' (Psalms 105:15). 'And to My prophets do no harm' (816) equals exactly the gematria of Rabbi Eliezer Berland (816)."

"May we all merit to cleave to the tzaddik of the generation, the true tzaddik."
