Watch: Rabbi Berland shlit"a Arrived in Uman: Prayers at the Holy Tziyon This Evening

Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a (may he live long and good days) arrived in Uman for the Kibbutz HaGadol (the great gathering) with Rebbe Nachman zy"a (may his merit protect us) for Rosh Hashanah.

Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a left his home yesterday at 6:00 PM for Ben Gurion Airport on his way to Uman for the Kibbutz HaGadol (the great gathering) with Rebbe Nachman zy"a for Rosh Hashanah.

The Rav arrived at the airport and boarded the plane which took off at 9:30 PM, accompanied by a large group of students and Anash (members of our community), and accompanied by the Rebbetzin shetichye (may she live long).

Before boarding the plane, the Rav kissed the ground of the Holy Land for many long minutes before the astonished eyes of the flight crew, who approached the Rav one after another and requested his blessing.

After landing at the airport in Kyiv, Rabbi Berland shlit"a set out in a convoy toward Uman, arriving there at 3:30 AM, accompanied by security personnel and local police. Today, Rabbi Berland shlit"a will go out for Mincha (afternoon prayer) and Maariv (evening prayer) at the holy Tziyon (burial site).

As is known, the Rav has emphasized several times that the entire point of Uman is to be included together with the whole public in the Kibbutz HaGadol (the great gathering) and not to stand out, as was the custom of all the great figures of Anash (members of our community) who came to Uman every year.

With Hashem's help, during the Rav's stay in Uman, five Bris Milah (circumcision) ceremonies will be held by the Mohel (circumciser) Rabbi Yosef Shor: the first, for the son of Rabbi Gull's son-in-law, will be held today at the Tziyon, and additional Bris ceremonies will be held during the days of Rosh Hashanah and also on Tzom Gedalia (the Fast of Gedalia).
