The Pilgrimage Gathering to the Western Wall – Shavuos 5783
Our teacher, the holy Rebbe, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, set out from his home—his holy abode—at 3:30 to the remnant of our Beis HaMikdash, accompanied by a great multitude, in the splendor of the King. As is known, the festival of Shavuos is celebrated for one day, yet the pilgrimage continues for a full week, as the Rambam writes (Hilchos Chagigah 1:7): “One who did not bring the festival offering on the day of Shavuos may bring it for all seven days; and he has compensation for all six days following Shavuos.”
Our teacher Rabbi Berland shlit"a prayed for the People of Israel together with the great public, and together they recited The Tikkun HaKlali with the moving melody that pierces the heavens.
