Itzik Gvili, the father of Major Ran Gvili hy"d, the last captive in Gaza, came about two weeks ago to our teacher, the esteemed Rav Eliezer Berland shlit"a, seeking strength and advice regarding his son.
During the meeting, Rav Berland shlit"a told him:
“Read the Parashat Vayeshev. Then he will be released, in the month of Shevat he will come out, they will find him with ease.”

Below are the main points of the conversation that took place between Rav Berland shlit"a and Itzik, the father of Ran Gvili hy"d:
The Rav: “Say Parashat Vayeshev.”
Itzik: “Parashat Vayeshev? Okay.”
The Rav: “Yes. In Parashat Vayeshev, Yosef was released from prison. Read it every day – it’s only ten minutes.”
Itzik: “Parashat Vayeshev?”
The Rav: “Yes, Vayeshev! Read it – and he will be released with Hashem's help, if Hashem wills.”
Itzik: “Is Ran still alive?”
The Rav: “He is alive – he is alive spiritually.”
Itzik: “What?”
The Rav: “Spiritually, he is alive. Like our Rebbe – our Rebbe is still alive.”
Itzik: “I understand. Thank you very much.”
The Rav: “There will be miracles. Hold on.”
