Why was Anyone who Tried to Plow the Soil of the Land of Israel Burned?

BEFORE YOU IS THE DAILY SHIUR OF OUR REBBE RAV ELIEZER BERLAND SHLIT"A, GIVEN ON SUNDAY, THE NIGHT OF 18 ELUL, PARASHAT NETZIVIM, AFTER MA'ARIV:

So "Sulphur and salt, a conflagration of the entire Land" (Devarim 29:22).  It is written in the Parashah (after the destruction of the Temple) that all the Land of Israel turned into sulphur, and every Arab who attempted to plow his field would strike a lump of sulphur and it would explode.  Because sulphur explodes on the spot, like the matches which explode on the spot.  And all the Arabs who attempted to plow the soil, [in] seven years they were all killed, they were all murdered.  Innocent people...pure and clean souls ascended to heaven... until Serach bat Asher arrived and began to dance, and through her dancing, then everyone merited to a complete redemption, speedily in our days, Amen!
