Why Was Someone Who Tried to Plow the Soil of the Land of Israel Burned? • The Daily Lesson from the Gaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Here is the full daily lesson as delivered by The Rav, Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, on Sunday night, the eve of the 18th of Elul, Parshas Nitzavim, after the Ma’ariv prayer:

“So it says in the parshah: ‘Sulfur and salt, a burning—its entire land’ (Devarim 29:22). It is written that (after the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash) the entire Land of Israel was turned into sulfur. And every Arab who tried to plow his field would strike a chunk of sulfur and it would explode. Because sulfur explodes right there on the spot—like matches that burst into flame on the spot. And all the Arabs who tried to plow the land—within seven years, every one of them was killed; all of them were murdered. Innocent people… pure and refined souls ascended to Heaven… Until Serach bas Asher arrived and began to dance, and through her dancing they all merited the complete Geulah, speedily in our days, Amen!”

To watch the replay of last night’s Ma’ariv prayer with singing and niggunim—the lesson begins at 34:57
