Why Young Men Die in Strange Ways Before Their Time - Words of the Righteous Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a

Due to the increase in difficult cases, our teacher, the esteemed Rabbi Eliezer Berland shlit"a, was asked in this manner: "Honorable Rabbi, why are so many young men from our community dying this year in strange ways, and how can we stop this plague?!"

Our teacher, Rav Berland shlit"a, answered with a heart-wrenching and painful cry of teshuvah (repentance): "Because they oppose the Rabbi, they try to cause young men to oppose the Rabbi. They lead them astray, and they believe in it. So there are car accidents, drownings in pools, God forbid."

The heart aches, our teacher the Rabbi shlit"a grieves over every loss, over every soul taken in the prime of life. The tzaddik takes upon himself the burden of the suffering of the Jewish people and works tirelessly to sweeten the decrees that arise due to our many sins time and again. However, our holy Rebbe has already said that through opposition, the adversary, God forbid, can accuse and take from his chassidim even before their rectification is complete.

We do not know the heavenly calculations, but we must convey the words of the tzaddik to prevent, God forbid, further severe losses before their time. It is clear that the tzaddikim who passed away are not among those who oppose the tzaddik, but because of all the poison circulating in the air and seeping into the neshamos (souls), damage is caused to the listeners.
