Writing of Palm-Sized Torah Scroll for the Protection and Redemption of Am

On the day of the king’s birthday celebration – last Thursday, 23 Tevet – the day in which the soul of the Tzaddik of the generation, Moreinu HaRav Eliezer Berland shlit”a, came down to the world, the Rabbis of the community gathered together with the participation of Moreinu HaRav shlit”a for the occasion of the writing of the Torah scroll in honor of the Tzaddik and in memory of those murdered in the Simchat Torah War.

During the event, Moreinu HaRav shlit”a entered to the song “For they add to you length of days and years of life…”  The Rav began with the writing of the first letters of the Torah scroll, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”  Afterwards, the Rav drank “L’Chaim,” blessing “Borei Pri HaGafen.”  Then he began to give over a fiery shiur in which he spoke a great deal about the significance of writing the Torah scroll.

After the shiur, which continued for about an hour, the Rav shlit”a said Kaddish, and returned to his holy dwelling to the song “May You add days onto the days of the king…”

At the moment, the merit to be a partner in the writing of the Torah scroll is given to one who purchases a complete sheet of parchment or a complete column by way of the links provided below.  Afterwards, if portions are left, the possibility of donating verses, words, and letters will be publicized here on the website.
