Rabbi Berland’s Prayer To Find A Good Chevruta
TO FIND A GOOD CHEVRUTA (LEARNING PARTNER)
Master of the world, Who can do anything, with the beginning of the new term, may I merit a true chevruta, like it’s written in the Gemara Temurah 16(a) on the verse in Chronicles 1:4:10, “Jabez called out to the G-d of Israel saying, ‘if you bless me and expand my borders, and Your hand is with me, and You keep me from harm, that I not be saddened’ – and G-d granted him that which he requested.”
That I should merit a true chevruta, and if not then I am going to the depths of hell, because if I do not have a true chevruta, I prefer to die at that moment.
Send me the best chevruta, and if not I will die for You, because I cannot live without a chevruta, like it says in the Gemara in Temura 16(a) regarding Otniel the son of Kenaz who is Jabez, who wanted to die in sadness, because he did not have a chevruta.
And his real name was Yehudah, like Choni HaMa’agel who said chevruta or metuta (a chevruta or death) and then he died, because he didn’t have a chevruta for seventy years, and when he came after seventy years and didn’t find a chevruta he straight away died.
Please Hashem, may I merit to learn Torah day and night = 177, without pause for a second or moment, and through this may we merit to enter with our bodies into Gan (53) Eden (124) = 177, like Serach (508) the daughter (402) of Asher (501) = 1411.
And through this may we subdue the eleven (11) chiefs of Esav, and kill the twelve princes of Yishmael, and may the verse be fulfilled in us,
“and it will be turned around that which (501) the Jews (80) will rule (355) over (50) their enemies (414)” = 1411.

תְּפִלָּה לְחֶבְרוּתָא אַמִיתִּית
אוֹ חַבְרוּתָא אוֹ מִיתוּתָא
רִבּוֹנוֹ שֶׁל עוֹלָם כֹּל יָכוֹל, עִם הַתְחָלַת הַזְּמַן, זַכֵּנִי לְחֶבְרוּתָא אַמִיתִּית, כְּמוֹ שֶׁכָּתוּב בִּתְמוּרָה טז. עַל פִּי הַפָּסוּק דִּבְרֵי הַיָּמִים א פֶּרֶק ד י’ “וַיִּקְרָא יַעְבֵּץ לֵאלוֹקֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר אִם בָּרֵךְ תְּבָרְכֵנִי וְהִרְבִּיתָ אֶת גְּבוּלִי בְּתַלְמִידִים וְחֲבֵרִים,
וְהָיְתָה יָדְךָ עִמִּי וְעָשִׂיתָ מֵרָעָה לְבִלְתִּי עָצְבִּי, וַיָּבֵא אֱלֹהִים אֵת אֲשֶׁר שָׁאָל”. שֶׁאֶזְכֶּה לְחֶבְרוּתָא אַמִיתִּית, וְאִם לֹא הִנֵּנִי הוֹלֵךְ בִּנְסִיסִי לִשְׁאוֹל, שֶׁאִם לֹא יִהְיֶה לִי חַבְרוּתָא אֲמִתִּית, אֲנִי מַעֲדִיף לָמוּת בְּאוֹתוֹ רֶגַע, וְתֶן לִי חַבְרוּתָא הֲכִי טוֹבָה, וְאִם לֹא אֲנִי אָמוּת לְךָ, כִּי אֵינֶנִּי יָכוֹל לִחְיוֹת לְלֹא חַבְרוּתָא,
כְּמוֹ שֶׁאוֹמֶרֶת הַגְּמָרָא בִּתְמוּרָה טז. עַל עָתְנִיאֵל בֶּן קְנַז שֶׁהוּא יַעֲבֵ”ץ שֶׁרָצָה לָמוּת בְּעֶצֶב, כִּי לֹא הָיָה לוֹ חַבְרוּתָא, וּשְׁמוֹ הָאַמִיתִּי הָיָה יְהוּדָה, וּכְמוֹ חוֹנִי הַמְעַגֵּל שֶׁאָמַר אוֹ חַבְרוּתָא אוֹ מִיתוּתָא וּמֵת, כִּי שִׁבְעִים שָׁנָה לֹא הָיָה לוֹ חַבְרוּתָא, וּכְשֶׁבָּא אַחֲרֵי שִׁבְעִים שָׁנָה לֹא מָצָא חַבְרוּתָא וְיָשָׁר מֵת,
אָנָּא ה’ זַכֵּנִי לִלְמוֹד תּוֹרָה יוֹמָם וָלַיְלָה = 177, לְלֹא הֶפְסֵק שְׁנִיָּה וְרֶגַע, וְעַל יְדֵי זֶה נִזְכֶּה לְהִכָּנֵס עִם גּוּפֵינוּ לְגַן 53 עֵדֶן 124 = 177, כְּמוֹ שֶׂרַח 508 בַּת 402 אָשֵׁר 501 = 1411, וְעַל יְדֵי זֶה נַכְנִיעַ כָּל י”א 11 אַלּוּפֵי עֵשָׂו, וְנַהַרוֹג אֶת כָּל 12 נְשִׂיאֵי יִשְׁמָעֵאל, וְיִתְקַיֵּם בָּנוּ הַפָּסוּק “וְנַהֲפוֹךְ הוּא אֲשֶׁר 501 יִשְׁלְטוּ 355 הַיְהוּדִים 80 הֵמָּה 50 בְּשׂוֹנְאֵיהֶם” 414 = 1411.

Prière pour une bonne ‘Havrouta (partenaire d’étude)
Maître du monde, Qui peut tout faire, avec le commencement du nouveau terme, puis-je mériter une véritable ‘Havrouta, comme c’est écrit dans la Guémara Témourah 16a sur le verset dans Divrei HaYamim (Livres des Chroniques) I 4:10, « Yabetz appela au D.ieu d’Yisrael disant, ‘si Tu me bénis et étends mes frontières, et Ta main est avec moi, et Tu me gardes de préjudice, que je ne sois pas attristé ‘ – et D.ieu lui accorda ce qu’il demanda. »
Que je devrais mériter une vraie ‘Havrouta, et si non ensuite je vais dans les profondeurs de l’enfer, parce que si je n’ai pas de vraie ‘Havrouta, je préfère mourir à ce moment.
Envoie-moi la meilleur ‘Havrouta, et si non je mourrai pour Toi, parce que je ne peux pas vivre sans une ‘Havrouta, comme c’est dit dans la Guémara Témourah 16a concernant Othniel ben Kénaz qui est Yabetz, qui voulait mourir en tristesse, car il n’avait pas de ‘Havrouta.
Et son véritable nom était Yehoudah, comme ‘Honi HaMa’agel qui disait « ‘Havrouta ou Métouta » (une ‘Havrouta ou un mort) et puis il mourut, parce qu’il n’avait pas de ‘Havrouta pour 70 ans, et quand il venait après 70 ans et ne trouvait pas de ‘Havrouta il mourut immédiatement.
S’il Te plaît Hashem, puis-je mériter d’apprendre la Torah jour et nuit = 177, sans pause pour une seconde ou moment, et à travers ceci puissions-nous mériter d’entrer avec nos corps au Gan (53) Éden (124) = 177, comme Sera’h (508) bat (52) Asher (501) = 1411.
Et par ceci puissions-nous soumettre les 11 (11) chefs d’Essav, et tuer les 12 princes d’Yishmael, et et puisse le verset être accompli en nous,
« Et il retournera auquel (501) les Juifs (80) gouverneront (355) sur (50) leurs ennemis (414) » = 1411.
